We aren't sure it's a new game or anything like that just yet, in fact most of the Payday 2 thread generally believes it's related to the game. I believe the leading theory is the Hoxton breakout.
[editline]11th July 2014[/editline]
We're also working on transcripts of each day. Hopefully we'll start seeing patterns.
It was posted in the Payday group, of course it's Payday related.
There's no reason to believe it's not Payday-related.
My bets are on Hoxton Breakout, not a new game entirely.
It's vastly too soon for a new game. They've yet to release the other twelve DLC's they've got sitting on a shelf.
If it's a new game I hope it has actual balancing and no DLCs with guns that should've been in the base game.
Where did people get this "new game" shit from? Of course it's dlc, they promised people a 2 year dlc plan.

I highly doubt it's a new game. Not sure where that came from. They said themselves that there are still a number of heists they want to add to Payday 2, one including the Hoxtone breakout. Besides, they also still need to finish up the damn infamy tree.
PCgamesN decides to write about the thing that least people think it'll be, as opposed to writing about the hoxton break out and it being linked to the Payday secret etc
Brilliant, it's like they just see something interesting and try to write about it
It's not a screencap, and it doesn't look like a prison cell.
It's an animated clip.
Overkill couldn't even tease a new game if they wanted to. They're under contract.
I mean, there's a tiny chance that 505's legal department is completely incompetent and it is a new game, but no.
11 months, 3 DLCs, and still no safehouse customization
They can't even bother fixing spelling mistakes. They punched in "cought" instead of "caught" in several instences and never bothered to fix it.

505's involvement was publishing Payday 2 on consoles, that is the extent of it. As it is, Overkill is bitter about 505 since they are extremely slow to QA test their patches for consoles.
Overkill is owned by Starbreeze, the contract holder. Starbreeze and Overkill are owned by the same guy though.

i guarantee that like 3/4 of the people who bitch about safehouse customization just do so because it's something to whine about
there are worse things about the game that i'd like to be fixed rather than some little novelty feature that would die off quickly
I feel like Payday 2 isn't popular enough to try to excite people with a vague announcement date countdown set more than a month from now.
another gage weapon pack
11 months, 3 DLCs, and still no safehouse customization
There's a few more than 3 DLCs, there's $40 worth out now
I'm not entirely sure this is for Payday 2. It'd be pretty dumb for Overkill to use the Payday 2 group to announce a countdown for a new game, but...this IS Overkill we're talking about.

The sole reason I bought Payday 2 was that it was on sale with all the DLC for half that. I'd not have touched it otherwise after playing the beta and hearing they released the game without the featureset, and then left the fucking safehouse as-is. It's laughable, but DLC's are easy to make. Even if they do completely fuck with the balance of a goodly portion of the game, although in this case they include parts that rely on those changes to be successful.
They need to add more stealth elements like the ability to lure guards
And modify pagers, maybe make it so 4 pagers is safe, 5th pager has a 25% chance of setting the alarm, the 6th pager has 40%, the 7th has 65% etc
Aside from genuine bugs, the stealth system is fine as it is. The problem is that older heists weren't designed with it in mind and it shows; Shadow Raid shows how well it can work. Framing Frame shows how abysmal it can be.

Play a game with proper stealth and come back to me on that.
