This stupid asinine "controversy" that that hack from Kotaku started is a fucking headache.
That art style looks so stupid.
Because of all this media coverage the game has been getting has led me to watch a few gameplay videos, game looks quite good :v:
Wasn't this guy a fucking douche about it too when people gave him criticism? And dear god this art is ugly as FUCK. How can you fuck up this bad? This dude must have really odd fetish problems similar to some artist from deviantart or something. [editline]26th April 2013[/editline] I was excited for this game too when I heard the concept, but then I saw the art for it.
Looks pretty good, but I dunno how much I like how sexualized the chicks are.
The game itself looks pretty cool but the female characters just look fucking stupid.
The game itself looks pretty cool but the female characters just look fucking stupid.
And this doesn't look stupid? All of the characters, male and female, and monsters as well, are over-exaggerated and over-stylized. It's a sort of throwback to older fantasy arcade beat-em-ups which yes, had over-exaggerated character designs as well.
Looks pretty good, but I dunno how much I like how sexualized the chicks are.
so what, we should give them all burqas?
If anything isn't this game showing just how weird and stupid oversexualized features look? I also feel that with this surge of equality in the games industry, we must remember that for every Life of Pi or Nineteen Eighty-Four or really any film or book about something, there's media like Hobo With a Shotgun and books that are needlessly violent or sexual too. As much as I know we are leaning way too far in negative stereotypes, I'd hate to see it all entirely cleansed just due to an overzealous reaction, and losing the freedom other medias have because we want to "be mature".
Jesus, that arstyle is fucking hideous, almost everyone looks like some fucked up mutant.
I don't know if i'm aroused or horrified.
so what, we should give them all burqas?
A little sexualization is okay. This just seems to cater to some weird fetish.
A little sexualization is okay. This just seems to cater to some weird fetish.
So a woman showing skin is automatically some gross fetish? Wow, kind of a childish conclusion don't you think? Like when a little kid sees kissing in a movie and goes "eeeewwww".

ryu ryu ryu, ryu gi........ [editline]26th April 2013[/editline]
And this doesn't look stupid?
Sorry if I'm not into stupidly disproportionate bodies bro.
And resorting to insults. A lot like that Kotaku hack Jason Schrier. Basically what you're saying is that an artist shouldn't be allowed to depict characters how he/she wants, and that to portray a woman as over-exaggerated or showing that she is a woman is sexist?
all disproportionate bodies men or women look bad and are dumb

Also, mind telling me when I said it was sexist?
Also, mind telling me when I said it was sexist?
That just tends to be the common mindset that people giving Dragon's Crown shit resort to. Sorry if I misconstrued your point.
all disproportionate bodies men or women look bad and are dumb
Not necessarily. If pulled off well, it can actually look pretty funny.
Not necessarily. If pulled off well, it can actually look pretty funny.
rarely enough for it to not matter very much
rarely enough for it to not matter very much
I'm sorry your Highness I didn't know your opinion was an objective fact
I'm really bothered by the amazon or dwarf but the breasts of the sorceress... I just think they're just a tad too big. No one seems to mention that the wizard and elf look rather normal, the elf having some big thighs but nothing as drastic as the others. [t]http://i.imgur.com/RlLQ5j1.jpg[/t] Plus the knight gets no love. Poor knight. Excited for this though, looks rather fun.
She looks like she's wearing a pair of shorts.
she is. hence the "I guess shorts are miniskirts now?" comment. also, kotaku called the female designs in this game lolicon. yes, I'm not joking on this either. I got an idea: let's stop talking about Kotaku because they're fucking retarded. They are the tabloid journalism/Fox News of gaming press.
I got an idea: let's stop talking about Kotaku because they're fucking retarded. They are the tabloid journalism/Fox News of gaming press.
Precisely. The problem is that these shills are the ones who generate the controversy, no doubt in order to generate visits and ad revenue, and masquerade as journalists when in reality none of them have a degree in journalism, none of them have any sort of code or ethics or system of fact checking, and all of them use journalism not as a means of informing the people on the facts, but as a soapbox where they can hold themselves as being beyond the average gamer and belittling them at every turn.
I keep thinking this is a sequel to Dragons Dogma
all disproportionate bodies men or women look bad and are dumb
"My opinion is fact and there are no others"
