I have decided to upgrade my computer(Current computer->): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883109032 I have already upgraded it with an 8800 GT but I want to have a better card. Will a Nvidia Geforce GTS 450 fit in this case or is there a PSU that meets the 400W+ requirement for the video card that is suitable with my motherboard? If so, it has to be in the US.
Prebuilt. Make completely new computer, imo.
Yeah, of course I'd like to, though I'm really just trying to upgrade the video card(and if that includes the PSU)
Upgrade the PSu first, your 8800GT can keep up for some time until you can buy a new GPU.
A search shows me that unit came with a 300W PSU. That isn't going to cut it for a 450 unless it's one hell of a 300W PSU hehe. Nvidia suggests a 400W minimum. Typically they suggest a little more than needed since they have to assume customers will buy the cheapest PSU possible, meaning an underpowered unit. Therefore, as long as you choose a GOOD PSU, a 400W unit should be enough. What's a good 400W unit? A Seasonic or Seasonic based unit, most Antecs above $40 in price at Newegg, Corsairs(not CX series). You're looking for ~30A on the 12V output. A 430W or 450W unit will give you a bit of breathing room, if you can find one on sale.
