No it fucking isn't Don't pull a Minecraft on us and call the game finished while it's the last thing everyone expects from KSP
No it fucking isn't Don't pull a Minecraft on us and call the game finished while it's the last thing everyone expects from KSP
Uhh nowhere did they say the game is finished, if fact they said the exact fucking opposite. “Reaching Scope Completion does not mean, by any means, that we’re done with the game, or even that the features we have are now finished and beyond improvement,” said Squad. “Quite the opposite in fact. It means there are (or will be, as we’re not quite there yet) no more base systems left to do, and from there on, the focus shifts to improvements, optimization, and content.” Good thing you read the article huh!
What they're saying is that all the base features they want in the game are to be complete with 0.24, so everything beyond that will be content and such, not features.
This is one of the reasons why you should be really skeptical of buying into unfinished games. Many of them just simply won't actually ever be completed. They may say it's "near completion" but there is a LOT Of empty holes in KSP still.
This so much. I only got the game because what I saw in it at the time was worth the pricetag. And I've played like 200 hours of it now, so I think it's worth it personally. But with current practices and content updates getting slower, not so much now. I still think they'll finish the game though. At least the main features are almost done.

Um yes I did read the article? Their team lost yet another member, they struggle updating the game twice a year, also they did a u-turn cancelling one of the most wanted features (resources) for multiplayer (aka sales boost). It's obvious that they're having tough times. of course they're not gonna tell that straight in the article, it is worded this way instead.

They just always said it couldn't be done, simply because they didn't know how to, but said to the community it couldnt be done for simplicity's sake.
Still, they suddenly stopped developing resources (which were pretty much ready IIRC) and started developing multiplayer. out of the blue.
There's going to be multiplayer?
They've got like one intern looking into it or something so don't hold your breath.
They've got like one intern looking into it or something so don't hold your breath.
it's almost as if it's not a priority right now
Sheesh people, don't be so pessimistic. I don't imagine KSP being the kind of game a developer would just abandon. It's a one-of-a-kind sorta game, it doesn't really have much competition. They have good reason to keep it alive.
