Jackie Porter, who is hoping to become MP for Winchester, said that after another poor local election showing, it was time to act in the party's best interests. Ros Kayes, candidate in West Dorset, said the public had lost trust in Mr Clegg.[/quote]

Would be interesting to see if Lib Dem support rebounds once Clegg is replaced - although he is credited with achieving ~25% in the 2010 pre-election polls, the Lib Dems had that level of support on occasion in the years before he became leader

That sell out bastard should have left after the tuition fee u turn.
Say what you will about Nick Clegg but he is by far the best leader the Liberals have had since Lloyd George, and unfortunately much like Lloyd George he's about to destroy his own party all over again.
What a massively U-Turn Politican. I was all for this guy getting into office because he had some great ideas. Until the Coalition. Well, we all know what happened there, their policies were perverted after that.
My favourite part is that the 2010 Lib Dem campaign was based around 'No broken promises', and was led by Clegg himself. Maybe I wouldn't have seen him as such a hypocrite if it hadn't been for that.
