So is this going to make ANY sense for people who don't know what Homestuck's story or characters are about whatsoever?

It's completely separate from the events of the web comic. And features a completely new cast of characters. Doesn't even have Sburb or Sgrub.

it honestly probably wont make much sense either way

I tried reading it and got a couple of pages it and it baffled the shit out of me.
Is there a plot synopsis somewhere for at least the beginning of it.

the rising events for the story involve 4 kids that are all getting ready for the launch of a new multiplayer game called sburb, but what they don't know is this game is a secret vessel for a planet creation machine, that also destroys the planet the game inhabits as a result. They start up the game, and accidentally trigger the end of the world by way of meteors. The objective of the game itself is to reach the end and reset the machine so it will create a new world for the winners of the game to live in, which is a much bigger task than it seems initially. The kids are sucked into the game which is actually sucking them into an alternate universe where they gain special powers and abilities that will allow them to defeat the final boss.
They get into the game and almost immediately after get attacked by internet trolls, who are revealed to actually be an alien species known as Trolls. They also get trapped inside their own version of sburb, called sgrub, and the events of sgrub are instrumental in the events of sburb. The kids and trolls become friends to figure out the mechanisms of the game and eventually work their way through the game while being attacked by multiple groups of enemies, as well as a troll empress that destroyed an alternate universe earth.
Explaining past all of this would literally spoil multiple major plot points

yes, it's designed to be that way

Pretty sure explaining all of that already spoiled multiple major plot points.
i think a summary of act 1-5 is probably as far as you can go with an elevator pitch without spoiling the vaaast majority of the story, 1-5 is a lot of plot set-up anyway before it gets into the real meat of the story

1-5 is literally half the story by page count.
Anyway more on topic, I saw some gameplay of Hiveswap and it does look like there's a lot of nudge-winks for people who know the characters and setting, some of which is pretty major, so I'm not sure I believe the idea that someone could go into it without reading the comic.
Not that it matters because it's never getting finished lol
Hiveswap? What Hiveswap, what are you on about?
