1. Compressed JPEG images or low quality images are considered invalid and ignored, Save as .PNG! 2. Use a reliable image host that doesn't compress the image, doesn't change the format, doesn't re size it, and can be seen by everyone. (I recommend www.cubeupload.com)DO NOT USE IMGUR OR TINYIMG. If you use imageshack, make sure to disable picture resizing. 3. If an image looks horrible It can be voted to be ignored. So take time on it. (Rating Agree for keep it/Disagree for discard it.) 4. Big leaps in technology and Overpowering Weapons/Vehicles are not allowed, you can't start having two giant ships that can erase the universe by pressing a button. 5. You can make a planet but try to avoid making it too big. 6. Declare. Declare is "Getting in line" to post an update on the "universe". If you see a post that says "Declare" but doesn't have an update on the universe image yet, do not post until you see the image in that post or posted later by the same user. Then Post "Declare" and everyone should wait for you to finish before posting another update. 7.Do NOT Declare Stack past 2. Ever. 8. Shit like Warp Gates, Black Holes, Worm Holes, or Teleporter Orpheuses, are allowed, but you can't just start with them/make them in your second turn. You first need to research and discover that technology. 9. Do not post a planet, then leave. This is NOT Create a Planet. This is Create a Planet and Invade Others. That means you have to stay and defend your planet, or it will be destroyed. 10. Name Your Planet. 11. Do NOT cry and argue if your planet is destroyed. If it is destroyed, simply make another one, It can even be the same planet with a different name! 12. It is recommended you color code/number/differentiate between your similar looking ships to help combat confusion. 13. Always post a brief explanation of what happened in your update at the bottom or top of the image. 14. You are allowed to omit details in your explanation to maintain a stealth technique, but be kind and perhaps leave a clue. 15. Don't make giant moves in a single turn. That is considered godmoding and if you do it your post will be ignored. 16. There is no definite limit to the amount of ships you can have, but try to keep the number REASONABLE. 17. You must like cupcakes 18. Do not move across half an entire system with your fleet. Solar systems are BIG and take time to be traversed entirely, even with your light speed ship engine. Using warp drives will allow quick jumps throughout a system. A slipspace jump between systems will take at least a turn. 19. If you create a system, name your star beforehand. Your system should be named after your star. 20. Try to keep the size of your ships down. 21. When you declare make sure you state which system. This is just a guideline in most cases. It has been built on over the course of multiple threads to try to keep the game from dying. Unfortunately it has failed so far. Star Map: [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/nVzObO.png[/t] Tomeda System: [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/pqucLe.png[/t] I fucked up the ring on one of the planets :C
The rules list is probably one of the things that are a turn off for new players. In my opinion, you should have two seperate lists: a "Pick up and play" rule list thats very condensed and easy to read, and a "In-depth" rule list. People were more inclined to join when it was very easy and the rules were 3-5 rules. For example, you could have rule 1 be "Make sure your turns are reasonable and aren't exaggerated" and the in-depth list of rules would include rules like #18, 22, 24, 16, and 4. This way, it's not as complicated to join and you dont have to spend 10 minutes reading the rules and make sure your ships are perfectly sized and such. Just my 2-cents.
I might as well declare and hope this thread survives at least more then a week.
I changed some of the rules around a bit. Most of the rules I took out were common sense. I also stated that it is merely a guideline.
Well this is certainly off to a fast start...
FIRST ANNUAL DECLARE PLANET KRAX APPEARS Krax is a very large and strange planet. It's most strangest property is actually it's 10 fully habitable "mini-planets". They all have three rotations: Around Krax,Around the Sun,and on their own axis. K7 has four rotations. Here is a rundown of every: Krax: A large and beautiful planet which is mostly filled with mountains, with only two deserts on the entire planet. It's home to the Guculucptulu Federation,a powerful space-faring nation. K1: A regular looking planet, but only four continents. K2: A regular looking planet, apart from it's bright blue water. It's a tropical planet mostly, but there are mountains and things everywhere. K3: It's dark and has only one super-continent. It's climate is very linear and it's mostly a big plain. K4: A tiny planet with dark water but the vegetation there is really bright. There are various things there, but it's overfilled with bright trees and it has huge mushrooms. Looks like a place from one of those shite RPG games. K5. It's a watery planet, and it has no islands or anything at all,but rings which are edges of craters. Popular tourist destination. K6: Dark and composed entirely of tiny tiny islands. K7: Dark water, bright plants and no ice at all. That is because it has a additional fourth rotation that causes every region to be equally bathed with sun. Has rare and delicate species there. K8: Bright and completely covered in ice and snow, but it's a big economical center. K9: Tiniest of them all,it looks like a regular planet, except really tiny. K10: Swampy and with many tiny islands.
Could you at least move the planet(s) away from mine?
Declare Tomeda. Undeclare Toe Meda
Did this die? I love watching the progress on these...
These haven't been having much success, lately. Between this and Planet at War, I wish more people would try to be active.
It's a long run game, what do you expect? The fun was great and now it's dry.
The first by comrade luis was the best, because there wasnt that many fucking limits on what you could do. Sure, it looks great and shit, but what you really came for in the first one was shenanigans. [editline]11th February 2013[/editline] Correction, you came for Space Shenanigans
I had an idea to make a "Create a planet classic" that's like v2/v5
