Probably a preparation for buy2play or (hopefully not) F2P.

What do you mean hopefully not?
Maybe the microtransactions'd be worth it then.
Steam keys for people who bought it?
ok
I mean the beta was okay and all, but the game isn't THAT great to warrant a purchase.
The first sign.

Microtransactions aren't the only negative of going free to play. Given how high profile the game apparently is and how people know The Elder Scrolls, going free to play with microtransactions could cause a large influx of "kids", idiots and botters. Of course I have no idea how it is now though.

I completely agree on that. I personally prefer single payment ones like Guild Wars 2.
Meanwhile I found the store page under QuakeCon Sale catalogue. Apparently its 50% on sale atm.

Consider how many children bought Skyrim. If the game went buy-to-play OR free-to-play their moms and dads wouldn't care so much because it's not a $60 purchase with a monthly fee and microtransactions.
Have they fixed that phasing issue yet, where you usually can't see others in your party?

Hardly,
bots already play, kids already play, and so do idiots/trolls.
They added it to Steam to more likely get some sales because of Quakecon stuff.

EVE online is on steam and it's not F2P (I think), if that's what you were implying.
Just looked at the store page and saw this.

It's horse armor all over again!
It is way way worse than horse armor ever was.
At least horse armor was something the community asked for, and it was like 2 dollars.
This is a single fucking horse for 15 whole goddamn dollars. :suicide:
Does it have Sexlab or Havok Jiggly Butts n' Boobs?

What last time?
What last time?
Its Horse Armor from Oblivion except even worse.
Its $15 instead of $2.50.
Look just because Blizzard does this

Doesn't mean its a good idea.
Well, Horse Armor was Bethesda Game Studios, this is Zenimax Online.

Its Elder Scrolls Online.
Same IP, same sin.

The legacy lives on
Why would you have shitty DLC on a monthly subscription game? If it were large expansions like what Blizzard does it'd be cool, but a fucking horse?
Pretty much everyone I know in world of warcraft either says the game is a joke, or that they'll wait til it's f2p, I'm with the later. Even if it's just buy2play I'll probably check it out, but I'm certainly not gonna pay two subscriptions.
It's horse armor all over again!
It's worse because now you need to buy the Horse AND the horse armor.
It's worse because now you need to buy the Horse AND the horse armor.
The DLC is for the horse, you still have to earn the horse armor.

ESO defo has it's flaws, but if you're big on PvP in MMOS i think you should try it out at some point (addressed to anyone btw). It's got some of the best PvP in a modern mmo, and they actually did a good job at making leveling feel like less of a grind (while it's not remotely proper RPG tier questing, it doesn't throw you into a million "collect 5 of these" and "kill this mob 20 times" quests)
It's not the perfect game, no. But I feel like a lot of people judge it based on their beta experience/what other people say and that's really just unfair. The game is substantially different from the beta, and really is worth a shot. Though it's totally understandable that 30 bucks + sub can be pretty daunting if you only have a passing interest in the game. A guild wars esque Buy2Play system would probably be better, but hey, we'll see how it turns out. As it stands there's enough people subbed and playing to justify subs, though maybe in a year or two that may change. I hope it doesn't go F2P though. What they should do is offer a trial! When was the last time an MMO gave an honest to god trial?
