I get this standard error message/crash to desktop whenever I try to run gta4, and it also happens with fallout 3. When I try to run it, a cmd window opens, and then goes straight to the error.
These games used to work on my old computer, but I've recently installed them on this computer and this happens.
I've updated my video drivers, and updated fallout 3 to the latest patch, and tried a number of compatibility modes for both.
Im running;
Win7 Ultimate, 64bit, SP1
Intel i7 950
Radeon HD 6850
6gb ram
Help me :(
Is GTA IV on the latest patch, and do you know if this happens with any other games than those two
I have a number of other games and they run fine, it's just these two so far. And no I haven't patched GTA, I imagined it would be unlikely to work considering the fallout patch didn't.

Install them anyway, it could be 2 different errors.
It's best to do it just in case. Did you buy fallout 3 on steam? If so try verifying the integrity of game cache
