Both speakers are working fine, but certain things are really quiet, while others are normal volume.
For example, playing a song, the guitar and drums are normal volume, but the lyrics and almost muted.
Occasionally it will return to normal for a second or two.
They are USB, and I've already tried other ports with no changes.
Turtle Beach Earforce P11's btw.
It's both speakers that are doing this. And it happened very suddenly, literally no warning before it happened.

Mystery solved.

My dad bought them.
So after a restart, they don't play sound at all, but the microphone still appears to work.
Reinstall sound drivers.
Reinstall sound drivers.
Did nothing.
My ear buds work fine though. So I guess it's safe to assume that it's just the headphones then?
It sounds like the headphones yes, I'd just invest in a decent pair of low cost headphones, have a look at the HTF-600s, or post in the headphone buying thread with your uses and budget if you're looking to spend more.
If you need a microphone aswell there are plenty of low-cost clip-on/desktop solutions.
Have you tried getting the headphones replaced with a new pair?

Using earbuds for the time being.

Not totally, most usb headphones install their own sound drivers. so when you are using your earplugs you are using your motherboards sound card and when you are using your headphone you use its own sound card.
Have you enabled a driver based effect such as bass boost or global equaliser?
This would either be through a dedicated control panel or the Enhancements tab (if available) of the standard windows sound settings

I've tried removing the drivers and reinstalling but it's had no effect.

Both with them on, and off, the problem still occurs.

So. Fuck these things. What would be the best, cheap and reliable headset? Cheap being, well as cheap as possible.
David suggestion seems good, but I'm just curious what else is out there.
Well a pair of HTF600's is a good choice. You'll need to get either something like a Modmic or a Samson Go Mic (or a Zalman clip on if you cant get the other 2).

After I posted that, I did some research, and those HTF600s are looking very good. And I'm probably just going to keep the P11s for the mic for now. Maybe cut them up and make a stand.
Well if all you're doing is Voip in games and stuff with the mic then I can't see why it wouldn't work if you can't get enough cash for another mic. I'm not sure how easy it is going to be to get the mic out of the headphones without breaking it, though.
