Computer crashed while playing Garry's Mod and now everything is screwed up

So I was playing Garry's Mod a while ago and all of a sudden my Garry's Mod froze up. To make things worse, my friend kept spamming my Skype because I wouldn't respond. So I tried Ctrl-Alt-Deleting out of it and task manager wouldn't open. After what seemed to be minutes upon minutes of trying to close Garry's Mod, I pressed the power button of doom. That's right I crashed my own computer.
Afterwards I started my computer up and noticed these side-effects:
- Icons out of order (Fixed easily)
- Windows Vista Basic Theme missing (I use this)
- Right Click > New is (empty) or in other words I can't create shortcuts or folders or anything
- Quick Launch always goes out of order when I turn of my computer
- Startup Programs missing like Steam and Skype(I even tried task scheduler and the startup folder but it doesn't open in the background like it used to)
- Can't change default programs (µTorrent always asks if it should be default, and I can't change my default mp3 player from WinAmp to foobar2000)
I have no idea how to even fix this, I looked for system restore points and there were none.
Your registry is fucked.
You'd be best off doing a fresh install.
Damn, I have an excuse now to clean my HDD. I would use linux mint now but I wouldn't be able to play Garrys Mod until it came on Linux, that is if the stupid drivers worked.
Rub a half ounce of garry's skin oils onto your motherboard when the moon is new, clap three times while chanting "I believe" and lightly dust your hard drive with the dust from inside a Pixy Stix. It's worked for me.
