No matter how bad the game is, modding support is a great thing. I'm happy that such a popular franchise sets the example.
can't wait for the nude mods actually, community made weapons and maps are always great. I'd love to see someone recreate old maps from previous games.
Can't wait to see what zombie maps people are going to make. I feel like this is an amazing addition since it worked pretty well in WaW.
Enabling mods pretty much ensures that a game's life is possible long after a studio has stopped supporting it.
Well shit, I've only been hearing good things about the PC release of this game. Might be my first COD purchase in years.

That's pretty cool. I played the beta and the game seems fun enough to warrant a $60 purchase. Between 20+ hours of multiplayer and probably 50+ hours of zombies with friends I could possibly get, this will help breathe life into the game outside of the DLC purchases.
The article did bring up a good point. "Modding tools" could end up something akin to the editor in Doom 2016 or just not be that feature full. This IS Activision and we know how they love to sell maps from the previous years release updated for the newer engine.
This is a godsend to everyone who wanted to mod zombies. WAW had so many creative maps its gonna be fun to see more.
Steam workshop support would be great. Click to add mods like in Garrys Mod
With more modding support, i actually want to retry making an old Lovecraft zombies map of the Miskatonic University that i designed a long ass time ago. Helps that they are going for that sorta elder god tone with the freaky tentacle shit.
Treyarch rocks.

That seems a lot more complex to make where as Deathmatch and shit is easier and simple. Its like mapping for L4D vs CS, a lot of the same shit until you have to get the zombies/objectives/scripting/etc... all working right and correct nav paths, and all that shit. I just see them giving us the tools for the basic MP style maps and not for zombies.
except there are thousands of zombie maps for world at war?
Won't this mean no-one will waste money on thier paid maps/dlc?
im sure they will, if only because I highly doubt people will waste their time trying to recreate the official maps from black ops 3's dlc just for non-buyers to use them.
Won't this mean no-one will waste money on thier paid maps/dlc?
Sometimes, a really good mod which requires a particular dlc pack might be that last incentive that pushes someone to buy a dlc. I know its happened to me before.
Won't this mean no-one will waste money on thier paid maps/dlc?
People still buy official dlc even if there's mod tools developers/designers need to focus on making the content well worth the price, how much value the content adds to the game unless a majority of the dlc will already be released before the tools become available, that's always a possibility Also remember that a lot of coduty sales are in the console market, which mod tools won't be officially available to
Well shit, I've only been hearing good things about the PC release of this game.
except there are thousands of zombie maps for world at war?
I know, my point is, the zombie maps have seriously changed dramatically from the WaW shit to what their has been and is now. They got more spectacular, fancier, more shit, more scripting, and generally its own set of assets/theme for it. WaW zombies was pretty basic overall. I would be very surprised if the tools we get have all the shit for Zombie maps, id like to obviously eat my words.
theres loads of zombies maps with insane amounts of scripting. they're hard to find, of course, but they exist.
The only CoDs I buy are Treyarch's because they actually do shit every so often. That and I enjoy mindlessly killing zamboozles.
Then I hope I eat my words
Yeah don't say that or you'll end up like me who actually did it and i am still dying from it
Won't this mean no-one will waste money on thier paid maps/dlc?
they could pull a cs:go and have custom maps only hostable on custom servers where it doesn't contribute at all to your ranking and such
