I'm trying to use my iPhone to control Winamp using the Wmote app and Wmote Server program.
The firewall I use is Comodo firewall and i'm simply not able to link my phone to my computer.
I've gone into the Network policies and changed global rules and all that jazz and it still won't work. The ports are right and everything, it just refuses to connect.
Can someone help me out here?
Did it work without the firewall in the first place?
Well I've had the same problem with running a minecraft server.
I've got 2 installations and the sever worked on the installation that doesn't have the firewall.
...uninstall the firewall? Windows security is good enough these days providing you keep updated with the latest security updates, all you need is an anti virus
Hmm il have a honk about it, Comodo is superb.
turn firewall off, and test if it works.
if it works: turn it back on, and create a global rule for the iphone MAC adress, so it doesen't get blocked.
Turning it off still doesn't seem to fully turn it off, I've tried that in the past. I guess il have to uninstall it.
Yeah, I've had hosting trouble with comodo firewall in the past. It also gave me memory errors. I would uninstall it for good. No real need for it.
Okay well I've discovered the problem is windows firewall, which isn't even working properly. It's stuck in a warming telling me it's not usin the recommended settings but that's it. I can't change anything, even clicking the use recommended settings button does nothing. I guess il just have to leave it.
I actually had the same problem- look around for an error. I (Don't remember where) came across one, and I just downloaded a registry script, ran it, did a restart, and all was fine.
Google is your friend for errors.
