The home-made armoured vehicle was found in the western state of Jalisco. It had metal reinforcements fitted to its front, and a metal cabin covering the rear platform, presumably to protect passengers from gunfire. The security forces often complain that the drug gangs they battle are better armed and equipped than they are. The vehicle was found abandoned in a rural area of Jalisco, where criminal gangs have been fighting with the security forces and each other. Jalisco was the stronghold of the late drug baron Ignacio "Nacho" Coronel, a top member of the Sinaloa cartel. Since he was killed by the security forces in July 2010, Jalisco has seen a violent battle for control of the area between members of the Sinaloa cartel and their rivals from the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion. First thing that came into my head... A-TEAM
I don't even know why but i wish i had one of those
Next thing you know they will be using helicopters
I wonder if they have armed jets.
I wonder if they have armed jets.
Considering that the drug cartels in Mexico have demonstrated the ability to field submarines, weaponry and equipment on par with the U.S. Military, ultralight aircraft and now armored vehicles, it genuinely wouldn't surprise me to hear on the news one day that they're now using armed fighter aircraft.
Well, it's nice to see the cartels are prepared for a zombie apocalypse. Did they name their fortress Fiddler's Green?
I wonder if they have armed jets.
Not jets, but their has been several accounts of drug cartels using crude napalm[fake-napalm], and dropping grenades from old-era planes which have been fixed up. Not to mention... They do have ground to air missiles which have been captured from the same Mexican Cartel. So... Don't be surprised.
I'm sure this was made with a montage, I mean how else can you weld?
Would have been better if they called it a Cartel Cruiser.
Did someone jack the rims off of that thug ride?
I want one of those for the Zombie apocolypse...
Well if the Zombie Apocalypse ever comes I'm going to join the Cartels they will be the survivors and stoned as fucked during the Apocalypse.
I wish people didn't need to shoot each other and drugs weren't illegal and politicians weren't corrupt.

It's all about business
...on par with the U.S. Military...
Shit we're about to be invaded No but seriously it's the mexican police that are so boned. They've got considerably less money than the drug lords do (obviously) but if the US military had a valid reason to fight a full-fledged land war against them? The cartel would be absolutely screwed 110%. We'd probably end up with another situation like afganistan or iraq though so no thank you.

The "Submarines" are just boats that float really low in the water, the weapons you talk of aren't any real surprise, and won't be unless they start fielding AT4's and whatnot, and the "Ultralight Aircraft" are just gliders. Even the "Armoured Vehicle" we're talking about right now, is just a pickup truck with a punch of scrap metal slapped on.
Throw on some tracks and you could have one of these. I can't be the only one who saw the view slits.

How the fuck are the Cartels getting away with this? Even the drug gangs that are set up in America barely have a fucking Suburban Cadillac.
How the fuck are the Cartels getting away with this? Even the drug gangs that are set up in America barely have a fucking Suburban Cadillac.
They're in war, it's not surprising to see cartels with armored vehicles.
I wonder if they have armed jets.
There really wouldn't be a point to that. What would they shoot down? They don't have the technology to hit ground targets.
wow, these assholes don't fuck around [editline]22nd May 2011[/editline] well also just wanted to add that these cartels are involved with Al Qaeda
They're in war, it's not surprising to see cartels with armored vehicles.
Yeah, if it was anywhere else, it would be called what it is - a civil war.
Looks like something out of Death Race.
Considering that many of the drug cartels, most notably the Los Zetas Gang are partially composed of ex mexican special forces, I'm not suprised that they have the means and the capibility to arm themselves with more advanced weaponary.
DAT FUCKING TANK!!!!!! good thing i live in a city where drugs business are hopeless
I keep reading this as "Mexico police seize 'nacho-tank' used by drug gang"
