• Iceland Declines Citizenship For Edward Snowden
A bid by Edward Snowden for Icelandic citizenship failed when the country's parliament voted not to debate it before the summer recess, lawmakers said on Friday. The vote leaves Snowden - believed to be staying in a transit area at a Moscow airport - with one option fewer as he seeks a country to shelter him from U.S. espionage charges. Six members of parliament tabled a proposal late on Thursday to grant Snowden citizenship after they received a request from him via WikiLeaks, opposition parliamentarian Birgitta Jonsdottir said. But a majority of parliamentarians voted late on Thursday against allowing the proposal to be put on the agenda, a day before parliament went into summer recess. It does not reconvene until September. "Snowden has formally requested citizenship. But nothing is now going to happen. We could not even vote on it," Jonsdottir told Reuters. God Dam It.
I thought you where cool, Iceland.
Looks like Iceland's giving snow the cold shoulder.
Who can blame them, I doubt they want the shitstorm that'd follow with him.

So they voted not to vote on it? That seems like an odd policy. It's like if you vote not to vote on it, it dies, but if you vote to vote on it, it'll probably pass because you voted to vote on it, unless somebody changes their mind during the vote.
The USA is like an Titan fleet facing Iceland, the lonely capital ship
Ice cold, Iceland.
Can't really blame them though, it would do more harm than good for them.
The USA is like an Titan fleet facing Iceland, the lonely capital ship
I'm not surprised Iceland said no, they don't want to piss off the America. NATO is basically their Military, and America is like 70% of NATO.
cock tease
maby North Korea is an option ?
I'm not surprised Iceland said no, they don't want to piss off the America. NATO is basically their Military, and America is like 70% of NATO.
Iceland has told the US and the EU no on several occasions.
I'd happily let him stay in my snowhouse.
According to dad our parliament became a bit shitty due to towns with ridiculous voting power.
As far as I know, Snowden has to be inside the country for the parliament to consider his request, or so an Icelandic friend told me.
I thought the icelandic constitution allowed for citizens to call a ballot if parliament does not?
Iceland has told the US and the EU no on several occasions.
Maybe Snowdon is a special case. This could be action movie lizard people stuff we're dealing with.
Stop hiding beyhound bureaurcy, and give this man a asylum. Even Finland denied it, because you must be in Finland to ask for a asylum.
Even Finland denied it, because you must be in Finland to ask for a asylum.
I wouldn't go anyway. I do not trust any country that requires you to be within its borders to apply for asylum.
