Wait, so if I don't have the legendary edition I won't get the new stuff? or owning all the DLCs is enough?
Wait, so if I don't have the legendary edition I won't get the new stuff? or owning all the DLCs is enough?
Legendary edition is the base game plus the three paid DLCs. Everything else was patched in over the last few months.
Wait, so I should have mounted combat?
Never noticed it before...
Any idea how much this Legendary Edition will cost?
Steam says 60$

When they announced they said it was gonna be 50 bucks.

It's completely useless and unusable anyway.
I like how Steam doesn't even have it classified as a game, it actually IS a bundle deal:

The Orange Box is like this, too.
The Orange Box is like this, too.
The Orange Box isn't a game though, it's always been a bundle of different games.
Usually when a game on Steam goes GOTY Edition (or in this case, Legendary Edition), Steam sells it as its own game.
Facepunch.
Do i buy this.
Yes or no?
Would've been slightly interested if there was a cheaper "upgrade to Legendary edition" option.

Console version tells a different story.

sure if you dont already have skyrim
don't buy this, the dlc isn't worth your time
[editline]4th June 2013[/editline]
buy the vanilla game off amazon and if you want buy the dlc afterwards, it'll probably work out cheaper as well
the only interesting thing about dawnguard is crossbows, hearthfire is literally a more polished version of a free mod and the entire concept is only fun if the idea of playing a buggy unfinished sims game with the awful pathing, ai and bugginess that you expect from an elder scrolls game, and dragonborn is interesting but is designed for high level characters so you'll have to spend like 20 hours in the vanilla game if you don't want to have a bad time getting curbstomped by bog standard pondlife in the new areas
don't buy this, the dlc isn't worth your time
Skyrim alone costs 30€, legendary edition 40€. All the DLC combined for 10€ more is easily worth it. Actually it looks like buying the DLC alone separately costs more than getting this bundle :v:

wait until summer sale and only the base game
then mod the SHIT out of it.

skyrim is £12 on amazon and personally I don't think that the DLC is worth paying £30 for the legendary edition, even if it is 'better value'.
i'm still reeling from the DLC being priced at £13.99 though, that's fucking £1 less than the price of the whole base game, for dlc that's received such sterling reviews as 'alright', 'anticlimactic', 'not that great' and 'disappointing'
[editline]4th June 2013[/editline]
actually wait do buy this, just not off steam
buy the legendary edition off amazon, it's £20 which is actually a reasonable price, and a £7 premium over the base game is pretty worth it for all the DLCs

non-sale steam prices are fucking mental and you shouldn't give them money because they're not even trying to get your custom, all these games are being sold at the RRP which is mental when all internet retailers selling boxed games sell them for ~£10 cheaper. this is even more ridiculous for steamworks games, where you get the EXACT SAME STEAM EXPERIENCE except you're not being gouged for your money
[editline]4th June 2013[/editline]
the only time buying games off steam is worth it is when it cuts prices down so low in sales that it'd be uneconomical for amazon to sell at that price
40€? To be honest I expected at least 5-10€ more. Still, I already pre-ordered retail edition a few weeks ago for 36€.

Not really? I think it works fine, of course it could be better but it's much better than nothing.

there are better games than Dragur Cave Simulator 2013: Climb that 128x128 textured mountain edition
Skyrim is an entertaining game if you didn't play the older Elder Scrolls beforehand, at least that's what I've heard. Skyrim is my first Elder Scrolls game so I really really enjoyed it. But a lot of people I know say "just play Morrowind"

Think of it as a Fallout 3: GOTY edition.

Morrowind sucks a fat one if you never played it. The game play is plain off putting. I have not played more than ten minutes without wanting to gauge my eyes out with a rusty spoon.
Only thing going for it in today's standards is its story and nostalgic value. Don't waste your money

If you mod it off the butt it's great.
And by modding it off the butt I really mean just getting a mod that makes sure you always connect your hits and Morrowind Overhaul.
I started playing morrowind after oblivion and I still enjoyed it a ton.

I never even used horses at all.
waste of money and they're slow as fuck
