the problem with one-life games like these is, what happens when one malicious hacker figures out how to kill everyone within a 50 mile radius of him and proceeds to go on a genocide crusade? That's dozens of people permanently booted off the game permanently.

r u fuckoin seriously trying to make this a gender thing u fukkn punk
Well if you do die within two hours you can just get your money back and it's only $10 so whatever. Different story if it's more than that
Apparently you're not allowed to call out the writers on garbage writing practices. My comment got denied on the article. :(
this is literally an idea everyone had when they were kids but instantly threw it in the trash because it's fuckin dumb
new idea:
f2p shooter with no microshenanigans, but: if you die your credit card is instantly charged
this is the game when boys turn to men and rich to poor
So leave the game as in, get kicked from the match?
or leave the game as in you can never start it up again?
This is an incredibly stupid gimmick. Not only are you practically robbing someone of 10$ if they suddenly die when they first spawn, but how is the game to be explored in terms of mechanics if you get locked out of it? In my opinion it's a blatant cash-grab gimmick.
Wow that's pretty damn funny, I was just talking about a game like this with my level design professor last night.
I always thought the "HARDCORE MODE, YOU DIE IN THE GAME THE SAVE DELETES" idea was stupid as hell
rougelikes are one thing, but making you start the entire game "Isn't hard", it's basically punishing the player for what is likely the games mistake.
I almost want this to get greenlit just for the shitstorm that will result in the first few weeks. How EVERYONE is "hacking", why doesn't anyone spare victims, all that stuff. It will make the Rust community seem like well behaved hyper-evolved specimens by comparison.
I'm going to turn on my speed and invulnerability hack and kill everyone
This will be a disaster
I agree, it really does look like the [del]WarZ[/del]Infestation: Survivor Stories engine. Complete with the pickup circle.
I don't think this seems stupid, it doesn't appeal to me but I'm still interested to see what happens and what people think about it.
this concept works as an artistic statement but not a game, charging money for it is ass
If it was a free game then ok whatever, but charging for this shit?
What's the appeal suppose to be here?
This is practically a scam thinly disguised as a gimmick. The trailer made the game look way too broad for permadeath to be acceptable stakes. Also you can bet your ass there's gonna be microtransactions. I hope the community has the good sense to vote against this game, given the drivel they let through (though Valve is guilty of this as well).
Reminds me of that time on InfernoMoo when they had to roll the server back a few hours so first the admins maxed out everybody's stats, gave them OP weapons, and setup a deathmatch where when you die, you got a permaban.
These games don't work because you can simply mess about in the registry to unlock them and try again.
There's also a bit afterwards that makes it sound kind of gross. It's under the header "Domination": "When the enemy is defeated, you decide his fate." Note the use of "his" there. They clearly have their target audience in mind.
Yes I'm sure the creator had a brutal optional rape scene in mind and therefor makes the comment about how "gross" it is perfectly justified, you two-bit hack.
Last time I heard of a game like this, Spy Kids came in and pulled the plug on it.

I recall there being something like that, except it was permadeath and you had to pay for extra lives.
If it weren't for the problem of potential hackers the fact that it costs, it's kinda an interesting concept but said problems completely invalidate it

:vomit:
What an absolutely trash writer
How about like this Gmod servers.
You die, you cannot play the game for 24 hours, this makes everyone a lot more careful on where to walk/shoot.
But yeah, make that shit free/extremely cheap as well.
Something feels really off and dirty about that trailer.
Also christ it's another zombie apocalypse shooter where you loot items by holding the goddamn use key on everything.
I kinda like the game itself, setting aside the gimmick. It looks decent, looks like it plays reasonably well, and I like the idea of having a home base you have to simultaneously defend while raiding others. Of course this is a trailer so basically none of that could actually come to pass, but I'm hopeful.
Psh One Life sounds easy I beat a game of Half Life no sweat.

Thats because PCgamesN is trash and they dont care about integrity or getting better at all. Its just a blog site and funny thing is, facepunch is probably predominantly its traffic, I never see it anywhere else. Actually, I straight up just believe Facepunch is probably almost exclusively all the traffic it gets.
So, most traffic is straight up coming from here, so most of the criticism would be coming from here, yet they dont wanna improve for pretty much the only people giving them views. Actually, the forums on the site are extremely fucking dead, last post was 20 days ago in the general discussion, which has the most views. Some before that on the front page are like 200 days since last post, with 0 replies
I think facepunch and Garry is only keeping them here even though they are so shit because its UK based and could possibly helping a brother out, which is fine, but when PCGamesN wants to continuing being absolute trash its just a major waste. I dont understand why people refuse to hear how shit they are even if 99% of what was written was absolute dribble, even 1 sentence in an essay of crap could help you realize maybe you are shitty at something. Especially when you fucking put yourself out their as a blogger. Your only job is to write and copy paste shit about video games, yet if you cant even handle that without being a major fuck up then clearly you cant handle being something as simple as an internet games blogger.
