My PC keeps crashing for no apparent reason. The screen will freeze, and there will be a lot of screeching static out of the speakers, and the only way to get out of it is to reset the PC.
It only seems to happen in games, and will happen a random duration into the game.
The reason I don't know if it's overheating or not is my GPU reaches around 55C under load which doesn't seem particularly high.
I added some new fans and a new CPU cooler to my case the other week and it never crashed like this before then, only afterwards.
Specs:
i5-2500K OC to ~4.2GHz
MSi HD6950 2GB GPU
16GB Corsair Vengeance
MSI P67A-GD53 MoBo
Thanks
Sounds like an unstable overclock. Run Prime95 for a while and see if there's any errors or warnings.
Put all your overclocks back to stock and see if it's still doing it.
Ok I ran Prime95 and it locked up after about half an hour, so I'll back off some of the clocks.
It's weird though as I'm using the MoBos auto-overclock function which should mean it's stable, but I'll try it manually.
