There's nothing like reading these kind of things from the words of an artist.
But don't people find it annoying how people are forced to pay for second rate sounds.
On Itunes or Amazon, you'd be paying roughly the same price for a cheap compressed representation of the artist's intent.

It's awesome to hear these kinds of words coming from an artist's mouth.
Neil Young was actually working with Steve Jobs on a high-fidelity digital music service before he died. It's too bad it didn't pan out.

he doesn't know what he's talking about but generally has the right idea
it's reassuring to hear such an old guy has the open mind to see that this is just what works for us. i have my whole system for music and would be pretty upset if that was ruined.
has anyone here seen this article? http://www.scaruffi.com/politics/usa12.html#usa0212

could you stop spreading this bullshit around. for pretty much everyone, regardless of setup, v0 MP3 and 256 AAC are transparent to the source material.

If you really think the format is the perfect consumer product for music, then that's your view.
It's a wrong view, but we'll see what people think. :-)

I've also expressed many a time that MP3 is a good format, anything above 200kbps is highly enjoyable. I just don't think in any way that it's the perfect representation of music for the people.
People act like piracy can be stopped, it can't. Everyone does it, you can't stop everyone... unless you're a ruthless dictator.
