• Cannot connect to router when it has security

My old router died and we bought a new Netgear WNDR3700 which works fine when you plug a cable directly into it but if there is a password on the router, any laptop that connects to it wirelessly cannot access the internet. I am certain that my password is right and the security type of the router agrees with the laptop's settings for the router, "WPA2" but still the laptop cannot access the internet. When I completely disable the security, the laptop connects to the router with no problems, but I would like security to prevent anyone from accessing our internet. Is there a solution to this problem?
I had the same problem. Netgear sucks. The best solution is to buy a different one. I personally reccomend an ASUS wireless N-router.
Make sure you are using the correct WPA2 key, Change it to something else in the routers web interface. [editline]17th April 2011[/editline] [QUOTE=The Seeker;29233460]I had the same problem. Just because you are too stupid to fix something without buying a replacement doesnt mean the whole brand is shit.
