[QUOTE] NEW YORK (WABC)
An NYPD officer is credited with saving the life of a child in Washington Heights on Sunday.
Police say they responded to a call of an unconscious baby on 181st street. When they arrived the one year old baby was unresponsive.
Officer Thomas Dunn who responded to the call, was approached by a firefighter with the limp baby in his arms.
After not seeing any response, Dunn, who was a former EMT placed the child on the trunk of his patrol car, gave him two chest compressions and two rescue breaths. The child immediately began gasping for breath.
He was transported to Columbia Presbyterian in stable condition and released later to his mother and said to be doing well.

They need faithful minions to serve them.
approached by a firefighter with the baby?
shouldn't a firefighter know what to do?

He would've probably claimed that the police accidentally revived the baby after giving it multiple shocks from a taser or something :v:

Turnout gear doesn't inhibit doing CPR.

In first responder training, I wore turnout gear. If you do CPR for 30:2, your helmet falls off, and your pack wears you out completely. It would be easier for an officer to do compressions due to less clothing. If it was just firefighters on scene I'm sure they would've done CPR. If NYFD doesn't require medical training, than oof, that's bad.
Wait why was the baby lying uncounscious on the street in the first place?

Then take your damn pack and helmet off.
Also it's FDNY

Oops. My mistake. Still, if you're in a situation where you have to do compressions and are part of a squad, we are told to do CPR until a paramedic arrives to relieve us since a rescue squad might arrive
