A sword-wielding man dressed in medieval-style armour has surrendered peacefully to Victorian police after a day of negotiations. Police were called to a caravan park in Congupna in the state's north following reports the 43-year-old was threatening to harm himself. The man held officers at bay with a sword from about 9am before surrendering at 5pm. He is being assessed by paramedics. Rex Reeve, who has run the caravan park for 20 years, said the man lived there but he was no sure what had triggered the standoff. "He’s been here for quite a few years without a problem," Mr Reeve told the Herald Sun. "There's certainly a lot of police here and they are just going to sit him out."
Source: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2013/05/24/19/14/siege-with-man-dressed-in-medieval-armour-ends The story doesn't make sense to me... Unless I am reading it right. This bloke dressed up only to attempt to kill himself?
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE
I wonder how well a taser would work against someone in full plate armor.

Don Quixote of the modern century. But where is Sancho?
"this is the police: we have you surrounded." "your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries!"
I had a bit of a dumb moment when I read 'Victorian Police' and thought they meant this:
Title made me think of a Victorian era siege on a building. For some reason, I don't know why.
Rex Reeve, who has run the caravan park for 20 years...
That's a really cool sounding name.
Probably not very since it'd just bounce right off.
Even if it didn't, the current would flow through the metal and away from the person inside.
That's a really cool sounding name.
Must be a Marvel superhero [editline]24th May 2013[/editline]
Even if it didn't, the current would flow through the metal and away from the person inside.
Would the current go through the clothing he most likely wore underneath?
I would liked to have seen what he looked like with all that armor on.
That's a really cool sounding name.
I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing it right, but if I am, then his name sounds like a person with a really bad speech impediment trying to say "Let's leave"
I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing it right, but if I am, then his name sounds like a person with a really bad speech impediment trying to say "Let's leave"
I read it in Scooby Doo's voice

This entire thread feels like deja vu from YEARS ago. Or is it just me? Or am I missing the joke.
Some people do anything for attention.
