• Seatbelts: Why don't people wear them?

The roads were covered in snow, visibility was impaired due to the continuing snowfall, and the car has already skidded three times on our trip to watch The Crazies. And yet, I was the only one out of 5 to be wearing their seatbelt. I mean, what's so hard about wearing a seatbelt? At least wear it when road conditions are dangerous. I just don't understand, I'd slightly understand if I was in a car with bumbling High School idiots, but these were University students, many of whom I know aren't particularly idiotic. It just takes 2 seconds, 2 seconds, and compare that to the thousands of teenagers in the United States alone that die from car accidents due to not wearing a seatbelt. You only have one life, why should you risk bleeding out on the side of some road, drowning in your own blood and foam? Are those 2 seconds really worth it? There is absolutely no reason not to wear one. Which is why, of course, I had to go and ask one of my friends (specifically after he wasn't wearing his seatbelt while I was driving him to get groceries) and, as he said, it's because, "I'm not used to it." Really? Is that the reason? Are teenagers across the world dying for no reason other then the fact that they aren't used to simply moving a piece of metal and plastic across their chest in one, simple motion?
Cause I'm a rebel of the roads yo.
Some say because it's their right. RIGHT TO DIE UNEXPECTEDLY
They annoy me.
cause theyre idiots and cant take those 2 seconds out of their busy schedules
Because, If they get in a accident and the car is on fire, They don't have to worry about taking their seat belt off. :siren: This was a joke :siren:
Up here it's against the law to drive on a frozen lake with your seatbelts on. They also recommend you leave your windows open.
many of whom I know aren't particularly idiotic
Nope.
Because, If they get in a accident and the car is on fire, They don't have to worry about taking their seat belt off.
If they crashed hard enough that the engine fucking exploded without a seat belt your neck would have snapped from the pure impact with the chair infront of you/steering wheel.
Because it's fun to fly out the front windshield at 60 miles per hour.
Because, If they get in a accident and the car is on fire, They don't have to worry about taking their seat belt off.
Your chances are 10-30x greater that you'll die from a collision with another driver than your car becoming spontaneously combustible. And this thread is begging for this picture. Edit: What I don't get is why I can't get Niko in GTA4 to have the common sense to wear a seat belt.
Because it burns and is like pure torture /dumb

After all, this is grand theft auto we're talking about. Nobody uses seatbelts.
He doesn't need one. After all, this is grand theft auto we're talking about. Nobody uses seatbelts.
Well in multiplayer you can only fly off of motorcycles. Its practically impossible to launch yourself from a car like you can in singleplayer.
Because, If they get in a accident and the car is on fire, They don't have to worry about taking their seat belt off.
This makes sense because your body would be ejected on impact and impaled/painted on whatever was in front of you, but at least you won't be still alive in a potentially survivable fire. Yeah, makes a lot of sense.
Sometimes if seatbelts get stuck you can die so there's a small chance they might not drown! That's just pointing the bright side of that, but yea my bro used to do this i used to call him an idiot
to live on the edge, and for adults (in maybe 40's and up) they weren't raised with seatbelts put into cars (at least this is how it was for my grandfather)
They do this when they're driving to just get groceries, they're not trying to prove anything to anyone.
I wear my seatbelt all the time. It's hip to be a square.
I usually wear one but sometimes I just don't feel like it. Sort of like wearing a condom for some.
Because, If they get in a accident and the car is on fire, They don't have to worry about taking their seat belt off.
Yeah, They would be able to get out of the car faster. Probably at 30-40mph.
Problem: You can die in a car crash! Solution: Wear your fucking seatbelt! Problem- Seatbelts can jam sometimes. Solution: Wear your seatbelt, and keep a decent, properly secured knife within reach. $30 at your local hunting store and about 5 minutes of securing the knife. You can now cut yourself out if your car rolls over, and break your side window! Its really not that fucking hard!
Because, If they get in a accident and the car is on fire, They don't have to worry about taking their seat belt off.
They don't have to worry about opening the door either.
Seatbelts, causing pain, discomfort? My god, I bet those are the same people who bitch and moan about sitting in a metal chair for more than two minutes.
Because, If they get in a accident and the car is on fire, They don't have to worry about taking their seat belt off.
they dont have to worry because flying through the windshield already killed them. :downs:
But I've really felt like I've built up a good relationship with inertia...
