Good that it was cancelled. Last thing we need is CoD to ruin 3rd person too.

I don't see how a game can ruin something as global as a perspective.

Third operson??!?!?!?1? callof duty did it first!!! :downs:
They had a 3rd person mode in MW2 and it really wasn't that bad.

3rd person was all I played in MW2. Mainly because you could cheat corners :V
Oh but thats risky! You can't do that! Hue hue hue..
Setting too obscure? Give me a fucking break.
the now-canceled game would have taken place during the "Secret War" in Cambodia and Laos during the Vietnam War. However, the setting was simply "too obscure.
Of course it's obscure. You did after all say it would take place during a 'secret war.'
Really sad to se this was cancelled. Made even sadder when you find out that this ain't even the FIRST 3rd-person CoD game they cancelled. In case you don't know, there was another cancelled 3rd person CoD by the name of "Devil's Brigade" made by Underground Development. It was said to have been Activision's plan B if people didn't like the modern day setting of CoD4. Some info and a video below:
Call of Duty: Devil's Brigade was a cancelled third-person shooter for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC developed by Underground Development. The game was set in World War II, focusing on Italy. In the game, the D-Pad was used to direct orders to the player's squad. These commands were: Assault, Barrage, Hold the line, and Form Up. One screen also showed the player giving a squad member the order to stealth kill an enemy soldier.

Sad to see both these games cancelled. They both looked like they would have had a lot of potential.

Then you haven't heard of WoW.

MMORPG isn't a perspective
Holy shit! A CoD with potentially original ideas!
Better cancel it. Can't have any of that.
My thoughts exactly, they were finally going to do something new with the series and they fuck it up.
Surely with all the money they have by now, they can afford to take some risks.
Activision will forever be entrapped with generic systems, cash-grabbing mechanics and piss poor community... people just need to learn that every call of duty game is going to be the same piss poor game everytiime.

I counter with Black Ops II. Treyarch makes great games.
Setting too obscure? Give me a fucking break.
Like most CoD players would care anyway. If it's men with guns honestly most people won't give a shit what its about.
I counter with Black Ops II. Treyarch makes great games.
I love Treyarch normally but I felt like BLOPS2 was awful. Something about the multiplayer felt off for me. Also thought it was a bit annoying that there was ammo crates literally everywhere in the campaign on most levels. What ever happened to having to hope to god you find a gun lying around somewhere and grabbing it?

What does this post even mean?

reasoning was that it was "too obscure"
so yeah they were scared to try something new
