When using a program such as paint, my mouse draws zig-zaggy lines rather than smoother lines, like this.
It doesn't make much of a difference no matter what DPI/sensitivity I set it to, unless I put it to something stupidly low. I don't recall it doing this before when I first got it, although it's been like this for ages now, and google doesn't bring up anything about it.
My friend with the same mouse doesn't have this problem.
The mouse is a Sidewinder X8, latest drivers and such.
Has anyone got any ideas to what could be causing this?
Be sure you have acceleration disabled.
By acceleration, do you mean Enhance pointer precision?
There should be some sort of driver available for the thing. And yeah I guess?
Well, I've had Enhance pointer precision disabled for ages, and got used to it. I reenabled it, and it pretty much has the same problem. I can't find any settings for acceleration..
i think its your hand
Well, when I'm moving my cursor about, I notice it jumps at certain parts, the gapping for example, will be like this moving horizontally: |-|-|--|-|-|
I'd check your sensitivity settings, in windows and in razer's driver panel. When I turn everything up my Deathadder can look pretty similar.

I've had this before and I'm pretty sure it's the acceleration.
Unless of course you've been drinking voltlight
Here are my DPI + Sensitivity settings dialogs:

Not particularly high..
I was thinking it was something like this
No, Microsoft don't do things like that. Plain old windows windows :c

thats exactly what "Enhance Pointer Precision" is.
Durr, silly me. Mistaking the Sidewinder as a Razer mouse because it's a snake :downs:
Do not touch Windows sensitivity settings, put it back to the exact center. It creates stepping like that because it basically just multiplies the movement of the mouse. If you want a higher sensitivity, increase your mouses DPI, or the sensitivity in games.

I also suggest you not use mouse acceleration, but that's just my opinion.
You have pointer speed set to highest. Change to medium and increase/decrease dpi
Maybe your DPI is set to very low ?
It's his pointer speed, he has it set to highest, which does the same thing on my PC
