Well, I just bought SimCity Societies: Destinations expansion pack (don't tell me isn't good, we all have our preferences), and I bought it successfully. Unfortunately, the only way to get the game is download... in other words you have to use the E.A. Download Manager (E.A.D.M.), which has never worked on my computer. So I just bought a $16.00 game, and I can't download it. When I try to use EADM, there is a box that says
[Check For Connection], when you click said box, it says 'Sorry, you still appear to be offline'. EA just ripped me off.
EDIT: I just talked to some EA folks, they were real nice. My problem however, baffled them completely. They tried everything.
why did you buy it if the ea download manager doesn't work on your computer
Now how was I supposed to know it had to use E.A.D.M.?
send them an email and get a refund..
send them an email and get a refund..
Like they are going to care.
sue them
Like they are going to care.
That's exactly what I was thinking. EA doesn't care about their customers, they care about fanning themselves with money. And eating smaller companies (like Maxis or Lionhead).
Wait, Lionhead was bought by Microsoft... nevermind.
Did you try calling their tech support? It's prolly something stupid on your end I.E. Windows firewall or something.

My firewall is down. Looked at their website for info on this problem, didn't find squat. I'm never buying an E.A. product off the internet again. Also, I can't get a refund on EA store downloads. The EA store is a cheap ripoff of Steam anyway.
Try taking the router out completely and plugging directly into the modem. Just for testing the point of failure of course.

Unless he's like me and has a modem in the router :v:
Just a fun fact, the EA tech support seems rigged to me. When I try to send them an email, here's what happens: 1: You have to send the email through their tech support website. 2: Then, it asks you your platform, then your game, then your problem. I try to select the game I'm having trouble with... it won't let me select a problem. 3: I decide to go with a different version of the game (SimCity Societies, without the expansion pack). 4: It asks for many things, but you can only have one attachment. 5: It won't send.
EA just is trying to anger its customers.
This guide may have some useful tips:

Also, try reinstalling the download manager, disabling your firewall, and getting the latest version of the manager.
Didn't see anything helpful there.
1: Reinstalled... 4 times.
2: My firewall is off.
3: Wouldn't the reinstalling it four times today count as that?
But thanks for the help anyhow.

I give up. EA wins this round. They just ripped me off $16.60. I surrender. I have succumbed to EA. I fail.
