Ah, I love sarcasm.
Mass Effect 4 Kinect-only arcade game.
I didn't know bad voice recognition was the future of gaming.
one cannot be enamored with it's enamored of
I didn't know bad voice recognition was the future of gaming.
I find voice recognition when the responses are known works quite well, look at programs like game commander, where you give it a list of commands and what to do with them, I've set up ST:BC so that when I yell something like go to red alert or raise shields it does exactly that
I just turned the Kinect support off in case it misheard my voice and made me pick the wrong options.
Cant wait for bioware to release Lifeline 2.
oh god please no no more kinect bullshit
How about less focus on gimmicks not many people use.
Nobody cares BioWare.
but the kinect doesnt have colored explosins?!
New endings only available with Kinectâ„¢!
Mass Effect 4 Kinect-only arcade game.
Now with amazing rail shooter action! Or maybe some sort of kinecteapers for my own virtual pet Reaper.
i find it quite amusing that the only way any real games have used kinect have all been for voice recognition. which is not by any means what the kinect is advertised for. and for the strangest reason, none of these games will give you this speech recognition with the usually free headset. kinect's a neat piece of hardware, i'll maybe consider buying it when it starts to be truly used by something good. i don't consider the addition of talking to my tv a huge improvement over gaming as it is now. no, i consider that a slap in the face and a waste of $150.
"It feels like the future of interactive storytelling," executive producer Casey Hudson told OXM. "You're just talking to a character, and you're going deeper into their conversation, asking them questions and telling them things and after it's over you pick up the controller, and it's a cold piece of plastic, and you think 'this is the old way, and what I was doing was the future'."
This guy is full of BS.
Thank god for Kinect inventing the microphone and voice recognition.
Voice commands isn't an all terrible idea. I mean, as long as you aren't required to make a full dialogue with it. But why the hell do they talk about it as if it was a kinect exclusive? We've had microphones for fucking ages.
It wasn't revolutionary, but it gave me a reason to use the Kinect again, so I thought it was fine. God, all you people ever do is whine.
I don't get how it will be more immersive when you're trying to speak deliberately clearly so the thing can understand you. I remember playing the endwar demo I had to put on an American accent for the thing to understand me. I end up getting pretty immersed using a controller anyway. Unless you're not used to playing video games, the controller should feel like almost like an extension of your body at this stage.
If they ARE gonna be enamoured with Kinect, they should work with the motion control instead of just vocalisation. But then again we can still be immersed using controllers or mouse-and-keyboards; some games don't strictly benefit from motion control. Also, they shouldn't be "enhancing the gaming experience"; they should enhance THE GAME before meddling in that stuff...
Commander Shepard has become a legend by ending the Reaper threat. Now you can continue to build that legend through further gameplay and Kinect™ Exclusive downloadable content.
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Shepard kinda repeat what you say once you've finished saying it? So basically what you do doesn't really matter in the end. Seems to be a reoccurring theme... In all seriousness though this is just... silly, if it used the Kinect's motion sensing in a new and cool way then sure but voice recognition has been around for ages and certainly doesn't feel like 'the future of interactive storytelling'.
is this EA punishing Bioware in some way by forcing them to support the kinect?
Title should be BioWare enamored with the extra dosh Microsoft's paying them for the Kinect support.
Fans no longer enamored with Bioware after Mass Effect 3.
After all the recent crap that BioWare has been pulling, I'm glad I've never enjoyed any of their games.
What the fuck does this have to do with kinect You can do this with any mic I didn't realise microphones were new technology
I don't get it whats with people making things to be immersive. How about doing some VR thing like those VR missions in MGS instead of these weak attempts at it?
Theres no point doing things to improve the game experience if the game itself is bad.
