I hope the base game will be better than 3's, I swear they tried to make TS3's base game as bland as possible. [sp]Yes, I know, EA, but im still holding a little hope.[/sp]
From that eyebrows image, it doesn't look like they've improved the appearance of the sims much. Hopefully they'll just be placeholders and the actual models used in-game will look much better.

Also, there are a fairly good amount of people on the TS3 official forums that are pretty pissy about the fact that the sims in the photo dont look realistic, since they expected their sims in TS4 to look like this (picture taken from a thread on that forum): [thumb]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7214/7088123947_0ca3c81626_z.jpg[/thumb] Which.....personally.....I'd prefer what they have in the photo in the OP atm, because the picture above seems like it comes from uncanny valley. I just hope that this game wont lack in content when it releases by itself.

I really, really hope they'll slow the fuck down with pulling out DLCs for this one. Oh wait, we're talking about EA here. Nevermind, not gonna happen. :v:

Nevermind, not gonna happen. :v:
People keep calling the expansions DLC's, when in fact its just steam listing the expansions as DLC's for TS3's steam release. If the TS3 were to have DLC at all, it would be the official store for the game. http://store.thesims3.com/ And store releases come out much more frequently than expansion releases.

Like the base Sims 3 which is updated is way more feature filled then when it launched and I think that's the perfect way to do it. Give features to everyone, give content to those who are willing to pay
I look forward to buying the exact same expansion packs as the last 3 times
seems like it comes from uncanny valley.

Looks a bit uncanny valley-ish to me.
I agree, reading is a difficult skill to pick up
I don't think the opinion of people on the official sims forums is worth shit, especially when all their sims are modded to look like this: -stupid fucking image-
Thats why i barely even take that place seriously either, along with the fair amount of people who are completely unwilling to put up with any change between games along with the fact that 75% of people who ive seen there are pretentious.
I agree, reading is a difficult skill to pick up
Right back at ya.
The new logo looks nice.
I hope it's not Origin exclusive. Edit: Okay, every single fucking thread that has to do with EA is filled with people talking about how Origin is shit or how they hope it isn't Origin exclusive, stop being fucking hypocrites.
I hope it's not Origin exclusive.
Its likely going to be, I really wont be surprised at all if it is.
I hope it's not Origin exclusive.
Honestly, it's hilarious how easy Sims 3 on Origin was to manage as oppose to Steam. Steam simply forgot I had all the expansion packs and there was no way I could find for it to "remember" so I just registered all the keys on Origin, downloaded it all and never bothered with it again.
Yeah but I never open up Origin and never play any games that are Origin Exclusive. All my games are on STEAM. I open up STEAM to play games nowadays. If a game I own isn't on STEAM (or the 3DS) then I'm not going to play it that much. Edit: Oh look, someone else says the same thing literally a week later and gets showered with agrees!
The base game will probably include all these new mechanics and ideas from the Sims 3 expansions and thus have a massive amount of content. I'm pretty excited!
The sims is that game I'd like to buy with all, or most of the expansions, and I just wait until they all get released and I can possibly get them for cheap or something, and then the next sims comes around and I'm like eh I'll just wait for this one instead
Of course it's gonna be a milking machine with almost dozen expansions and countless DLCs, Origin exclusive and with all neat stuff being saved for expansions. Also high probability that EA won't learn shit from SimCity, which means you know what.
Honestly I really wish ea would make something like sims 2 life stories (the game had a story mode which was quite nice actually) I don't like the base sims because there's not much exciting stuff happening.

They already confirmed it to be offline supported, quite obviously, for an almost entirely single-player oriented game, what else is going to go wrong? And what's wrong with it being Origin exclusive, anyway?
Sims 1 and 2 i could play for hours, Especially Sims 2 once i got that Open for Business x-pac. But the Sims 3... Theres just something about how the game plays and runs that doesn't feel right. Like just how the game mechanics work compared to 1 & 2. Plus the game is graphically laggy, Which is strange when i'm playing on medium with well above recommended settings. Hopefully they optimise the game better this time around.
Origin is literally worse than hitler and it's the reason why girls don't like nice guys!!!!!
Also Steam.

[editline]19th June 2013[/editline]
Also Steam.
but STEAM is made by !~VALVE~!
From that eyebrows image, it doesn't look like they've improved the appearance of the sims much. I personally would like a mix of The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. Sims 2 sims, with a Sims 3 vibe.
I like the cartoony art style that they seem to be adopting again. However, I think I'll hold out for awhile to see how the base game and the first few expansions turn out. As much as I likes sims being integrated into the neighbourhood in Sims 3 it still seemed a tad underwhelming compared to Sims 2. Psst, EA! Get Will Wright back on the team!
