Already was there but this is more specific about the nikon d5100, im wondering if anyone has experiance with it , and if so if he/she maybe has some photo's to show (:
It's an excellent camera, hell, anything that can mount Canon, Nikon or Pentax lenses is a great camera. Unless you're specifically looking to use the video function as well any digital body will do really. IIRC the D5100 has almost the exact same sensor as the D7000 which is highly regarded as a good camera. Of course it will take lovely pictures, but if you're dolling out the cash for a better camera because you think it will get you better pictures, look elsewhere/nowhere. If you're THAT desparate for sample photos here's a Flickr group dedicated to the D5100 http://www.flickr.com/groups/1707654@N22/ Keep in mind that they all may use varying depths of post processing so don't see that as a clear representation of straight out of camera colour rendition. Also keep in mind they may not be using the kit lens that you will get with this camera, so that may affect the photo quality.
It still however baffles me that people that don't need video insist on getting a body with the most features. I use a Nikon D60 and it's basically a D40 with 4 more megapixels, and I don't think I've ever needed more than 3-4 megapixels for the photos I post. In my opinion the only reason you could need to spend oodles on a body is for getting a full frame digital.
Oh my. Stop thinking about it. Do it. The D5100 is the best camera ~$800 can buy, hands. Down. I bought mine in August and I literally have not had a single problem with it that makes me wish I'd bought another camera. The only "complaints" I've had are things that aren't on it that are on the D7000, but NONE of it is regarding picture quality- which is all. that. matters. I cannot recommend any camera higher if you're willing to drop the coin on it.
Thanks for your replies (:
