Damn, my main rig doesn't meet the minimum. I've needed to upgrade it for a while but it's not gonna happen anytime soon, unfortunately.
A friendly reminder that my 780 is showing its age.
I know filesizes get bigger as time progresses and technology advances but last gen games averaged around 10-15 gigabytes. This is a huge leap. Are the textures and models really that big or are we just getting a load of uncompressed audio
Not sure why they're not using a lossless compression method if they're supplying uncompressed content, but there's also the possibility of their simply just being a ton of content.
Although I'm sad. I played DH1 on integrated but looks like that won't cut it this time.

For all the texture and photo assets, they for sure use compression (DXT), for audio usually only MP3 is supported in game engines for compression, and it can't be used for anything other than music, since the mixing for gameplay is done with wav.
Only recently built a new system for the first time, GTX 1070 and i5 6600k should boss this.
That file size though.
Rx 480 8GB and an i5-6500
Should do the trick
16 GB RAM recommended
holy fuck, are we starting to see the end of 8gb min ram?

this has been a thing for a long long time now, how are people still surprised?
Memory is cheap as fuck up until you get into SSD's
Seriously thought the min specs would be lower than that
fuck i need to upgrade

It's mostly the new consoles that let it become commonplace it since their discs can finally contain that much. Last gen gimped us like crazy, valve had to make lots of compromises with L4D2 for example because the xbox was giving them problems.
So my 970 is going to be alright, just a little low on VRAM? Neato.
16GB ram, makes no sense

8GB has been the standard for quite a long time. For huge games like this they also might be using it for caching to make loading less painful for HDD users, but that's just a theory.
