• Crysis - Randomly freezing at minute intervals.

Hi.. I recently purchased the Crysis complete pack whilst it was on the steam holiday sale, I load up and set my graphics settings all to very high at 1600x1200 res as my system can more than handle it.... Now, the game begins and starts to play fine with a smooth framerate but randomly the game freezes/locks up for a minute or two without any obvious reason, i've tried lowering the settings to see if it makes any difference - sadly it doesn't, anyone else experienced this issue? OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) CPU: AMD Phenom (Quad-Core) (I) 2.3Ghz RAM: 4.5GB GPU: Factory-overclocked GTX 285 My temps do not go above 70 degrees either, so it can't be overheating.
Sounds like you might want to defrag the game files and maybe your HDD in general. Also, is that a Phenom I or II?
I have the following specs: Intel E6750 3.2GHz, Abit IP35 Pro, Evga 8800GT, 2x2GB G. Skill memory and Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. My Crysis freezes on me if I try to apply any changes in my options. What I would do first is make sure the Crysis you have is for 64-bit (yes, there is one) and then get the new patches.
I don't think you can do anything about that. I have the same problem, and have with every other computer i've used, because the world on crysis is so large it is hard to stream in all the new texture and models which are coming into view distance as you walk around. I'm guesing you RAM (and pretty much everyone elses) can't suddenly load all that quickly, there is a pause because of the loading.
Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl with Complete 2009 does this for me, but its only for 1 second, then back to normal.
how did you get 4,5 gb ram?
how did you get 4,5 gb ram?
4gb of RAM with 512mb added
What are the speeds of each stick? The 512 mb stick could be slower than the others, causing a slowdown.
Remove the 512mb stick then
Although not all the same brand (upgrading to 6GB incrementally), they're all DDR2 clocked at 800Mhz to avoid any slowdowns due to varied speeds between the sticks. (2x 1GB, 1x2GB, 1x512MB) @The Last Man; If you look at the specs I put in brackets "I", it's a first generation Phenom 9600, which I intend to upgrade in the near future to a Phenom II 965 (3.4Ghz) Black Edition. PS; I've already checked the game files defragmentation, according to STEAM it's 0% - And my drive regularly defrags itself every wednesday, and according to Windows' defragmentation tool it's no more than 1% fragmented - Although i'll run a quick defrag now, I don't think that it could be the cause?
Get rid of the 512 mb. I am pretty sure that will help.
The 512mb stick is the last in the chain, after removing it and doing a quick test it hasn't rectifyed the issue, and thus has been put back into my PC. Any other ideas?
