I just got an android phone and was wondering what would be the best browser to use and why?
Android Mini, it's just so fast.
ICS default browser.
default browser. I don't know why you wouldn't use it.
Opera Mobile for WiFi, Opera Mini for when I'm on 3G.
Opera Mobile is the best internet browser in terms of features and overall
Opera Mini loads faster/uses less RAM/much less storage required so it is good to use on my crappy phone when I want to look something up quickly
Dolphin HD works great and its pretty damn fast.
Opera mainly because of the easy access to tabs for fast browsing on websites like Reddit and Facepunch.
Opera, what version depends on if it's over Wi-fi or cellular data connection.
Opera mini and hd fails for me for some reason.
The stock is useful, since it's the stock and I've used it for months.
Now I use dolphin browser hd. Mini is just smaller and has less options, and that's about it. And it's the best for me.
I'm rather fond of MIUI's browser.
Yeah. It's got everything I need.
I've stuck with Dolphin but I guess anything with tabs would be fine. It's so dumb the way you have to go into the menu to close windows in the stock browser. I like seeing what windows I have open all the time.

Yeah this is pretty much the only reason I don't use the stock browser.

I would be inclined to agree if I had a bigger screen and MIUI wouldn't allow you to have a setting like that.
I flip back and forth.
The default browser is good for Flash content and is generally all around OK, but the font rendering is downright ugly at times. Also, at least on Android 3.2, it closes... a lot.
So, when I actually want to read something online, like Safari books or something similar, I go with Opera ( not Mini ).
For day to day living, I use Dolphin, it's faster and more stable than the default, but sadly the fonts are just as ugly and it sometimes has flash problems. This is all for my tablet; for my Android 2.3 phone (Xperia X10 ), Dolphin, hands down.
So, sadly, I guess my answer is "none of the above!". I really hope ICS makes things better for my Transformer, cause frankly the default browser can be pretty awful at times.
If using ICS: Default and Opera Mobile
If using GingerBread: Boat Browser and Opera Mobile
blargh, boat browser has no hardware acceleration. Can't wait for proper hardware acceleration for ICS on my the Desire
Maxthon? Anyone? :tinfoil:

Looks really good. I would use it instead of Opera if it had more themes. The default would be perfect if you could change the blue to grey and keep everything else. I'm just being picky now.
Default, Opera Mini or Dolphin Mini.
Opera Mini usually because my phone is a piece of crap.

Opera Mobile works pretty well for me as long as I use the trackball.
I haven't quite worked out how to get it to scroll pages with the touchscreen properly.

I use it for reading Marvel comics in their online Flash app, but thats it. For some reason, it renders the Flash app best. The default browser does it in a popup window, which is irritating.
I'm so used to the default browser i probably couldn't adjust to a new one for at least a week.
Plus almost every aftermarket browser clutters the fuck out of my 3.2" HVGA screen
