• Bloodhound.Sonar1 Virus?

Well, i downloaded some 'stuff' for CS:S the other day, and everyone from where i got it said that you will get a virus warning because it's a leaked version. So yesterday, as i'm playing CS:S, Symantec Endpoint Protection pops up, saying i have 2 'Infostealers' and a 'Bloodhound.Sonar1' that was running under the name of host32.exe. It told me to terminate the application so Endpoint Protection can continue dealing with the infected file. I clicked on the link, and apparently its named exclusively by Symantec. I'm wondering, does that mean its a Virus only Symantec anti-virus programs can detect, or is it just a term they use? My computer is rid of the viruses now (I hope) My Active Scan and the Full Scan aren't picking anything up, and host32.exe isn't in my Task Manager. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this before?
Just what exactly did you download that was "leaked"?
Some hacks. I dont know why i covered that up. I'm ashamed.

Hacking is just plain silly. I wouldn't risk being banned from playing online permanently.
I wasnt playing on VAC secure servers, i like to think i'm actually pretty darn good at CS:S, and i only used the hacks for fun. But aside from that, my Steam account, and e-mail have been hacked. I've sent a steam support request out. And i now realise, that i'm a very stupid boy. Lol

And how good are you? Pwning on pubs doesn't count as good
That'll teach you! And No I never had this..as I don't hack. Though I did have my account hacked before. Downloaded what was suppose to be skins for Zombie Master...unknowingly forgetting to check what the fuck I was double clicking.....
Lol @ Kidd also, i left it a few days after wiping my computer and sending a ticket to Steam, i've got my account back now. The same as always, not fiddled with ANYTHING. But i haven't got my hotmail back yet. Anyone know how to do this? I've forgot my secret question. I thought i knew it, but if i try too many times it gets locked out... :/
Hacks degrade your skill.
Actually, I used to hack way back in the CS 1.5 days and it improved my skills significantly once I got bored of hacking and started playing clean again. You get to see how people position themselves, react to your movements, change their path depending on noise, etc. There's a very good learning opportunity. But unlike what the average idiot thinks, I didn't hack because I was bad. I hacked because it was different from CS and because I thought the original game was very stale. I could see someone's skills degrading if they only hacked because they were bad at it.
Because hackers are fuckwitted lowskillers thats why :downs:
Or just people who want to make you mad, and it's working.
Well now you know why you don't EVER download an exe file that you're not 100% sure is safe. Get your credit card, paypal, email, steam, everything stolen by making a stupid move like that. Oh, and especially on a hack site :D You could try doing a boot time scan, since you can't terminate it now. That way nothing is interfering with it being deleted. Trojans often inject themselves into other processes, that's why you may not be able to find it in task manager.
i've got my account back now. The same as always, not fiddled with ANYTHING.
Somebody could've cheated with hacks on a VAC secure server and got you banned, and you wouldn't even know it. VAC bans are delayed FYI

Well, like you said. The file was full of viruses, the people that released it stole your account information. And on top of that by time you get it back, you will have a nice Vac ban waiting for you. Was it really worth 2 minutes of stupid hacking?
