Now the Israeli band Orphaned Land is joining forces with the Palestinian group Khalas to take a message of coexistence through rock'n'roll across Europe. An 18-gig tour will see the bands perform in six countries, including Britain, this autumn. The musicians will share both a stage and a tour bus for three weeks, proving in practice that their "metal brotherhood" overrides differences of religion and national identity. At a concert to launch their European tour in Tel Aviv last week, Orphaned Land's lead singer, Kobi Farhi, and Khalas's lead guitarist, Abed Hathut, explained their mission. "We can't change the world, but we can give an example of how coexistence is possible," said Farhi. "Sharing a stage and sharing a bus is stronger than a thousand words. We'll show how two people from different backgrounds who live in a conflict zone can perform together." "We are metal brothers before everything," said Hathut. But, he added, "there is no bigger message for peace than through this tour".
That's so... What's the word?

This is the most metal thing I've ever heard of
Religious ignorance and conflict tried to kill the metal...
'Tis the flame of metal
I don't listen to No Doubt.
They should just replace the UN with Orphaned Land, they've done more for peace in the middle east
They should just replace the UN with Orphaned Land, they've done more for peace in the middle east
I'd love to have a UN made up entirely of metal bands from their respective country, with a UN security council that consists of dethklok.
I'd love to have a UN made up entirely of metal bands from their respective country, with a UN security council that consists of dethklok.
Norway sends in Mayhem as their band
Norway would have to be part of the Security Council because of how metal they are

And they say metal is satanic and evil.
Then Steam hers of this news and gives everyone a free copy of Brutal Legend! [sp]A man can dream :c[/sp]
Excuse me if I sound rather debauched, but who knows that they aren't just doing this because it will give them headlines and people will welcome them because of the political message? Sounds like a bit of a cash grab to me.
I'd love to have a UN made up entirely of metal bands from their respective country
I actually have a cookbook where every recipe is submitted by a metal band from a different country. It's called Hellbent for Cooking if you're interested
This is pretty fucking cool, if I may say so.
but they never bring peace, everywhere they go at least a few handfuls of people die
nitpicking is your business and business is good
