I'm currently going to re-install Windows 7 on my computer because its starting to run slow, how would your reccomend backing up my hard drive?
Just use the Windows Backup Assistant? or is there some other way that I can do it?
How much data do you want to backup? What kind of data is it Are you talking about taking an image of your drive or just documents?
I've got 2TB NAS I use for backups and storage here. Quite costly but well worth the money imo. Also use for my Music/Movies etc.
Acronis True Image
I want to back up 750GB of files.
Its everything on my computer, I just like to have it for my own reassurance. I'm planning on backing up on my 1TB external.
You have to pay for Acronis True Image, I would prefer a free alternative if possible.

Doesn't Windows have its own backup when you install a new OS thats decent?
For a one-off backup you can just manually copy over the files you want, but I'd recommend something like SyncBack to schedule regular backups once you're up and running again.
Image it, or just copy the folders, but if it is "running slow" it is most likely the cause of something in a folder.
