What a day for Chicago.
The day the Cubs won the world series in over a century will probably become a state holiday in Illinois.
2016 has been a real clown fiesta for everyone, but cubs fans are currently feeling more joy than anyone else will in their entire lives
The other countries on the list have huge population densities, the fact that the Cubs celebration made it on the list in Chicago is incredible.
I wonder if the presidential inauguration in January will make it on the list too :v:
I'm half disappointed the Cubs won, to be honest. I was ready to get called up to put down the riots in the event of a loss.

why would you look forward to that
I'm surprised Hajj ranks that low compared to the others.

I doubt a mass suicide would count as a celebration.

Lots of people there :v:
You can't count the population of Chicago as being part of the celebration just because they're in the city.

Chicago only has 2.7 million residents... If this is somehow true, that's twice the size of the whole city for one rally.

Everyone knows Chicago has a single hive mind that all members of the city answer to. If one cheers, the rest will follow.
I like how the top ten events are primarily religious events with this and a Rod Stewart concert mixed in
Like are they the worst team in baseball or something? I can't understand why this is such a big deal.

They broke the longest championship drought in the history of any major sports franchise (108 years).

The metro area was 9.3 million 5 years ago, and a lot of the Chicago suburbs self-identify as "Chicagoans." 5 million is a bit of a stretch, but believable, if you consider people coming in from around Chicago too.

Some people enjoy the sound of the cannonball roaring.
and they all left so much garbage behind
seriously, garbage everywhere
Glad I took the day off. Taking the train would have been a nightmare.

That doesn't necessarily imply he was looking forward to it
