I have a broken XBox 360, and I've heard of people gutting and turning them into home theater PCs. I decided to try a build for this. Is this good?
No. Remember the horrible cooling?
Huh? No, no I do not.
If you have some case-modding experience, it shouldn't be too hard.
If not, you'll learn a lot.

Also there are smaller cases than the Xbox 360 used for HTPCs.
I have a 360 case on hand, so I figured I'd save some cash. Oh shit, the picture broke. Hang on, let me fix it.
That is not an HTPC. That is a pussy little grandma's computer. Real HTPC's have Xeon X3440's and 9800 GX2's :frogc00l:

Stop waving that e-peen around so much.
Oh, does it need a GPU? I think I forgot about that.
This PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371003&cm_re=antec_basiq-_-17-371-003-_-Product
This RAM (Or find something cheaper, yet): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145218&cm_re=corsair_XMS3_DDR3-_-20-145-218-_-Product
And get some of these istead of a single 3TB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185&cm_re=samsung_spinpoint_f3-_-22-152-185-_-Product
Find a good case, and a GPU (If you want to play games, get a 4830, they're cheap and pretty powerful).

4 3.5" drive bays in this bitch, so if you wanna go cheap, get 3 1TB Spinpoint F3's and a blu-ray or DVD drive.
I'm not the best with case stuff, but it seems pretty reasonable priced.
