Trump's six-month approval rating plummets to a record low
Thirty-six percent of Americans approve of President Donald Trump's job performance at the six-month mark of his presidency, while 58% disapprove, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll.
Trump's six-month rating is the lowest of any American president at this point in the last 70 years.
The poll was conducted between July 10 and July 13 and comes as Trump continues to weather ongoing controversies surrounding his ties to Russia and as his campaign is investigated for possible collusion with Russia during the 2016 election.
These results also came on the heels of revelations that Donald Trump Jr. met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya last June to obtain damaging information on Hillary Clinton that was offered "as part of Russia and its government's support of Mr. Trump," according to emails Trump Jr. posted online. With respect to the meeting, 63% of respondents believe Trump Jr.'s actions were inappropriate. Sixty percent believe Russia meddled in the 2016 election, and 67% believe the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.
Thirty-six percent too many
Fake polls, apparently.
Anyway, lets keep this trend going, I'm genuinely interested in just how low he'll manage to go. It's pretty wild.
For the record, the ABC/WaPo poll got the election to within 2 points
A new low!
lmao the GOP healthcare replacement is so poorly rated as well
24 percent approve of the GOP healthcare bill while 50 percent would rather have Obamacare
Like you're digging into the hardcore GOP supporters at that point.
40% isn't bad at this time
I agree Mr. President! It should be way lower!
i'm numb at this point tbh
I love that his definition of 'almost 40%' is 36%. Like... that's teetering on almost at best.
How come he's still the president

I'm amazed at how long this guy can just stay in that position

"its bad and fake but hey almost 40% isn't that bad!" except obama was doing pretty fucking great this time in his presidency in the middle of the great recession.

He's still got a while before he goes might as well get used to it.

I guarantee you that Donald Trump is fucking infuriated right now. Every time news like this breaks, reports from the White House reveal that Trump screams, curses, and throws things around when bad news breaks. He almost certainly threw a literal temper tantrum about this, especially when he went to compare it to Obama's approval ratings, which never once dipped below 40% during his entire eight years of presidency.
Trump continues "winning," crushing Obama's lowest approval rating by five points after barely six months in office.
As Trump becomes more insecure about this, he'll start ignoring the nationwide approval rating and begin looking only at the Republican approval rating to find validation. "Obama had only an 11% approval rating, okay? Let me tell you, I am doing so much better than that! So much better! Sad that Obama can only get an 11% approval rating, and I have so much more than that!"

36% is not "almost 40%." You can't round up by four points to make yourself feel better, haha. 36% is astonishingly bad, especially for this quickly into his presidency. We're still supposed to be in the honeymoon phase, where his party is supposed to be praising every minor accomplishment.
Guess you're just not cut out for this type of work Trump-o.
There should be a clause to trigger impeachment at a certain level.

i can see this ending very badly
I'm not sure if there is a legit news site reporting on this, but the President's Lawyer himself directly implicated Trump Sr. due to an assinine defense. Saying if Donald Trump Jr, Collaberated with the russian's
why did the secret service do nothing.
So people was like (including the secret service) wait a minute Jr. wasn't in protection in that time, So IF and IF the secret service was in on that meeting, Trump had to be as well
Oooooooooooo
Note I put "If and If" because they could have been not be in that meeting we don't know but the Lawyer just did something extremely stupid today.
But yeah with how bad there lying I wouldn't be suprised if more of a connection would be found out.

Yeah I saw that. The implication that the SS was the could mean that Trump himself intended to come.

Something tells me this guy isn't too good at his job, especially after we caught his threating emails.
Obama's approval rating during this same period was 62%.

Truman's approval rating dropped to 23% right after he dismissed MacArthur. It was, in my opinion, the right move.
Leaders should have the authority to make unpopular but necessary decisions, otherwise why call them leaders? Trump is a fringe case of a disastrously incompetent person being put in a position of authority. No need to neuter the office just because the guy currently holding it is a shitbag.

Maybe not a level that triggers impeachment, but does at least something. Maybe at like, below 30% approval we have Congress start being more investigative and wary over said President's actions. Or (and to be honest even I wouldn't be too sure of this one) possibly even temporarily revoking ability to pass executive orders or something. But something should be done if enough of the population feel their leader isn't performing their job to a satisfactory level.

We have elections for the express purpose of doing that. Having the Congressional and Judicial branches also plays the role of limiting what an unpopular executive may do too. The only other reasonable thing that could really be implemented would be a recall ability, but I'm also not too sure how I feel about that or what the proper and just way to implement it is.
how low can you go, how low can you go 🎝
