Just cut the price, jesus christ, Sony.
The PSP is a good console the only issue I ever had and why I stopped using it was because the pins inside the charger kept falling out
Homebrew.
Sony isn't going to cut the price anytime soon. Gamescom brought a lot of good Vita news like Cross Buy, a few new game announcements, PS+ coming to Vita, and finally announcing PS1 classic support coming to Vita (Next week on the 28th). Personally, from what I saw at Gamescom, there's more reason to buy a Vita now then before, and if Vita still continues to struggle, I don't think a price drop is really going to solve anything.
Sony needs to cut the price if they want this to be more than mildly successful. The fact that the 3g version of the vita that comes with an 8 GB memory card is 50 dollars more than a 160 GB ps3 (vita 36 is 300 dollars, 160 gb ps3 is 250) seems odd to me. I know ps3 hardware is older but its got better hardware than the vita as far as I know.
Get some Monster Hunter on there. Problem solved.
Get some Monster Hunter on there. Problem solved.
Monster Hunter seems to be becoming more of a Nintendo-focused franchise lately. Tri was released on the Wii, rereleased on the 3DS, and now 4 is coming to the 3DS as well. Capcom's cuddling up to Nintendo for whatever reason. Anyways I've been seriously considering purchasing a Vita lately. Maybe I should wait for a price cut, but at the same time, they just announced they weren't planning a price cut any time soon...
Stopped using mine Vita some time ago, games started to get boring and there was not really any game i was looking forward to
Stopped using mine Vita some time ago, games started to get boring and there was not really any game i was looking forward to
If NFS Most wanted 2012 is cross buy then ill probably power on my vita every once in a while. But other than that yeah there aren't any games I am really looking foward to unless they add some good games for free when PS+ is updated for vita.
Memory card prices are a complete joke too. I own a Vita and only own one game. There is hardly any games worth buying.
Get some Monster Hunter on there. Problem solved.
If it had proper online functions, instant buy yes but I feel they're being lazy with the series. Seems they don't really want to create many new assets and just keep reusing stuff and sticking to somewhat poor hardware. Also rather surprised there is no Patapon for it yet either.
The PSP is a good console the only issue I ever had and why I stopped using it was because the pins inside the charger kept falling out
My analogue stick broke and I have no way of repairing it.
The Vita is an amazing piece of hardware with almost no amazing pieces of software.
Just cut the price, jesus christ, Sony.
They already make massive losses on the PS3 units, I really don't think they want to repeat themselves here. [editline]20th August 2012[/editline]
Homebrew.
Holy fuck stop posting this in every Vita thread. it isn't the answer, it killed the third party PSP support. It will do the same thing for the Vita. Unless Sony implement a controlled community application store and find ways to block ripping and loading of ripped games.
The Vita is an amazing piece of hardware with almost no amazing pieces of software.
It's the PS3 all over again. Luckily, the PS3 got its due later on. Hopefully, my Vita purchase is justified. Uncharted was excellent and games like Wipeout show what the system can do, I just wish devs would put more into it. If they want to make a killing, make it so that handhelds are a justifiable purchase once more. They keep complaining that iPods and phones and tablets are now capable of playing games that are of equal or greater quality than their handheld gaming counterparts. Yet, how much does a game cost on the Android market? About $10? Go make a quality Vita game and sell it for $30. Make it a game people want to buy and play, like we used to. Then, you'll have your profit. I'll take a AAA game on my Vita any day over any Android market games.
Get some Monster Hunter on there. Problem solved.
You know what would be really awesome? If they released a Monster Hunter game on the 360 and/or PS3. They complain about it not being well received in the US but the PSP isn't a mainstream thing here like it is in Japan. Put in on a home console here and it would be a fucking hit. I'd buy it. I'd buy 10 of it.

When the Bioshock game comes out I will most likely have to get one.
It sucks that you can't even get Star Wars Battlefront 2 on the Vita store.

"Vita has no gaems!"
This list would like to disagree with you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_Vita_games
And if you sort by first release, you'll notice literally nearly half of those games haven't been released yet.
This list would like to disagree with you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_Vita_games
NFS: Most Wanted and Bioshock are the only decent games on that list and they're not even out yet.
All i'm pointing out is the fact that the vita has more than zero games. It may not have many since it recently released, but its not like it legitimately has zero games.
The PSP is great; it's cheap and has a ton of great games which are also low in price.
but its not like it legitimately has zero games.
do tell
The Vita would generally sell better if Sony would stop having a thousand rabid giraffes up their ass about homebrew. Also if they didn't release their shit with such high fucking prices.
Is there any homebrew stuff for this yet?
holy fuck, the whole console only has 66 games? and i thought the 3DS didnt have many :( [editline]21st August 2012[/editline] the 3ds has 131 (NA). damn, thats still not enough at all the ds had so many more at the same age, these are dark times we live in :(
3DS has the entire DS backlog (i think), while Sony pretty much abandoned the UMD format, which means no PSP backward-compatibility.
No crap it's outselling the Vita when it has more developer support.
I'm not fussed anyway about the lack of games. All I need is my guilty pleasure that's releasing aug 30th. project diva f. Still, been out awhile and there's pretty much fuck all out for it. hoping that it'll end up like the PSP in the sense of the sheer amount of RPGS though.
