So I recently got Just Cause 2 and the game lags a lot even with everything on lowest setting. Now my computer doesn't suck that much but still I thought maybe it's time for an upgrade, so I went on System Requirement Labs to see what I needed to upgrade to run recommended. That's when I noticed that it reported my video card to have 2.2 GB of memory...

Now I thought that this site might not be reliable, so I went ahead and checked with the nVidia control panel...

Anyone knows what's up with that? And I apparently need all the requirements for recommended but yet it says I don't. And it reports a different DX version than the nVidia control panel.
Thanks.
Don't know about the RAM, but it says DX 10 because your video card only supports DX 10. It says DX 11 because the operating system supports DX 11
That number includes shared system memory
Your computer has 1791MB of shared memory so it adds this to your 512MB of dedicated video memory to get the 2303MB of total available graphics memory. Don't worry about it because your 512MB card has the recommended amount of memory. It thinks you should get a new card because it's an older Nvidia card but it's fine.
Same thing here, it reported the correct amount of memory before I upgraded to Windows 7.

Also, your computer should run it fine, I have almost the same, except a weaker processor, and I can run it on medium/high with good FPS, try updating drivers or DirectX.
Well the game runs around 50 FPS but frequently drops to 30 and it's annoying as hell, plus that's all the graphics on low. Would you guys have any recommendation for a new video card that would run Just Cause 2 good?
My 4890 runs crysis on very high with great FPS. It's really the best bang for your buck these days if it's in your price range.

I've also got a 4890 and can play just cause 2 with everything high (except AA turned off, I notice some fps drops, and I don't really notice the AA anyway), though not great resolution (1440x900), still a constant very good framerate.
I've got an i5 750 (2.66ghz) and 4gb ram, so I suppose you'll get similar results, depending on resolution
Aren't all DX 10.1 games backwards comaptible with DX 10 games? A 9800GTX+ should handle Just Cause 2 fine
Then I guess there's another issue because it doesn't, with everything on the lowest setting I still get big FPS drops.
I have an 8800GT and I've gotten odd random lag spikes while playing the Just Cause 2 demo. I believe that both it and combination of my processor (some AMD athlon dual core) cannot run the game well.
