New Colossus is a pretty cool name for the next Wolfenstein.
Hope it continues TNO's story and has MachineGames at the helm of it.
Why WOULDN'T they make one
not making one would be abysmally retarded

If I remember right, everyone was theorizing the name meant the Statue of Liberty, so perhaps after the destruction of the London Monitor and gigantic middle finger to the Nazis in The New Order, rebels and refugees are trying to make and defend their own new home?
I don't remember the Nazis even being close to beaten in TNO. I just remember that you blew up a lot of their important buildings in Europe and killed one of their leaders
what i'm interested in knowing is [sp]how they're going to show BJ escaping from essentially calling down a nuke on his position after being blown up[/sp]

I'd say it's kind of like a Combine situation. You caused potentially a massive rebellion but the enemy threat is still very much large, in charge and preparing to wipe you out if they get the opportunity.

TNO was mostly about reviving the resistance and getting revenge on Deathshead. The new game can now be about actually defeating the nazi order.

So, if I'm understanding correctly...the next wolfenstein IS Half Life 3? Consider me sold!
Seriously, as someone who liked TNO and TOB (maybe not as much as everyone else, but I liked them well enough), I can't wait for a direct sequel, especially after that ending.
This honestly isn't that much of a spoiler but BJ is deffo going to be having a kid at some point won't he
If ever there was a game that deserved a sequel, it was TNO. Besides the way ended I mean, which basically meant that there had to be a sequel, the story was just fucking fantastic.
Except for the whole Da'at Yichud "we actually stole all our technology from the Jews" thing. Wasn't a fan of that because of how it ruined the running theme of Nazi super science and occultism.

[sp]If you listen during the credits you'll hear the sound of a Helicopter flying by. It's theorized that BJ was rescued albeit very badly wounded.[/sp]

he had a kid who become a talkshow host or something and that talkshow host had a kid who became commander keen
im still mad they ruined the flagship Evil Nazi Tech trope

They didn't steal all of it, they stole enough to run with it.
Even in today's society, just acquiring a power supply from 50 years in the future would shoot our technology forward immensely.
I was really hoping you'd play as his love interest, Sure it'd be "Super radically different" But it's not like she was just some dame, she was pretty cool

The deepest lore
Hopefully id Tech 6 is all but assured to be used.

Guess who commander keen's kid is supposed to be

Sadly this timeline isn't the same as the one in wolf 3d

Doomguy?

Still though, I'm not one to get triggered at video games all the time like /pol/ does, but the "hah jokes on you nazis couldn't possibly have achieved anything without the superior Jewish intellectual power" was kind of ... meh.
Not that I'm defending the nazis or condemning the Jewish people, I'm not trying to do any of that. I just think that downplaying it like that makes the whole ordeal watered down and one-dimensional. Not to mention, as Govna pointed out, it simply ruined the running theme.
Instead of an Empire that abuses its own people, essentially whipping scientific progress out of them plus dancing along the slippery slope of ethics/pragmatism and its effect on scientific progress it just simplifies it, and tries to hamfist a cheap "poetic justice" into the theme. It takes away its thought provoking values, and turns it into a simple story of unambiguous, victimized good, and unambiguous big bad evil. And I'd like to add, thre's nothing wrong with a villain (in this case, the reich) to be ideologically evil, but there should some degree of a gray area, or ambiguity involved. The "Nazi Tech" was always that little bit of ambiguity, and now they've removed that.
I just feel like it's inevitable that we'll be playing as[sp]his son[/sp]sometime in the future games.

It'll be a game where BJ is a grim dad who teaches his son to kill nazis and also there's a lot of slow walking sections.

Did TNO have a sprint button? It could be a good parody of those scenes if you could walk for dramatic effect or just sprint and the audio speeds up so BJ sounds like a chipmunk
Christ, can you imagine the tech of the Nazi's if Deathshead didn't die? Like 2016 and the tech has them setup around the Solar System and beyond, constructing a Ring World around the Sun and all that crazy shit.
Oh yes!! All aboard the Hype Train :hypeisreal:
this, and that new alien game where the best game's of 2014
Considering [sp]One of the Primary Antagonists is still alive, as is HITLER in some weird zombie form[/sp] I'd love to see a sequel.
I've been playing through TNO and the world-building it does is just absolutely amazing. Everything looks like it belongs and there are lots of interesting mentions to things that happened around the rest of the world. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the next game expands upon the scale of things.
