I love how GFWL is the third unforgivable sin out of a long list of problems.

Because it's a bug.
Yeah, the port for the last one was ruined by gfwl, I think. The port was bearable after some tinkering and getting dsfix. But gfwl damn near killed it.
I thought the port was pretty good except for the controls, fps cap and internal resolution. It was stable for me and ran well with dsfix. I actually preferred GFWL because I could show my love for DS by getting all the achievements twice. Once for XBox and once for PC. I've never had problems with GFWL, it only made it easier to connect with XBox friends
A half-assed port would be Saints Row 2. To even run that game decently, you need a processor that matches the Xbox's 3.2 ghz. If your processor speed is faster, then you need to download a program to help run the game at a normal speed. That's a game you can't even play without any mods because the port is so bad. Some missions with timers fuck up and make it impossible to beat
I want that picture as 1920x1080.
you can keep the 720p 30 fps lock if you include proper anti cheat measures.
what's everyones' problem with gfwl?
I read on another site that higher resolution and 60fps was already confirmed. Can't wait for it.

Well as of now it's down, so there's one major flaw.

I hope you can choose to run it at 30fps via a menu option as well if you want, I tried 60fps with Dsfix and it just didn't feel right to me.
Understatement of the year

if I recall correctly you have to be online to be able to save... or you need to be online to use autosave. I'm sure there's numerous other things, but someone else will need to point them out.

Maybe because Dark Souls wasn't meant to run at 60fps?

To add to what others have said:
It has plenty of bugs, like deleting your save files if you change gamertag.
Adding friends and creating accounts demand a second email to approve of it, which can be a huge pain in the ass if you're younger than 18.
It is only available in like 40 countries which means that not everyone can play the games that use it.

The best thing is that gfwl will kick you if you have too low fps while playing online. I couldn't play GTAIV with my friend most of the time because he would sometimes get a temporary fps drop and the game would automatically kick him.

Does it really do that? I played gta4 mp on my old pc at constant 10-15 with less depending on what's going on and didn't get kicked once.

it doesn't delete your saves, it just switches to an empty save folder for your new username
all you need to do is move the files from the old folder to the new one. I laugh at the chumps who changed their name and had their old saves sitting in a folder right under their nose the entire time
GFWL also doesn't like to connect half of the time.
And, if you lose connection in the middle of playing. You're kicked back to the menu.

In that case I take that part back, sorry.

This doesn't work for Dark Souls, saves made using an online profile are only playable using that profile, you will get an error message trying to load a save tied to a different gamertag. Offline saves made using an offline profile will play on any computer though, as far as I know.
Has GFWL died a pathetic death in the gutter yet? I can't count how many game experiences I've had ruined by that fucking popup that won't load my saves until I connect, which doesn't fucking work half the time.
Second worst DRM ever.
Yeah I remember all those people calling us entitled for wanting a decent port too.

Don't all new GFWL games do that with the saves?

It did it constantly with my friend.
