I quit Runescape in 2006-2007 so about over 5 years ago. Recently I've been getting bored with my games and I want a long lasting game and began to think back to how much fun I used to have with Runescape playing with all my friends. But if I start up Runescape again, it'll probably have a bunch of new, confusing shit and I'll feel like I'm back in 6th grade.
I feel most people who play those kinda games are super nerds or young but I'm willing to overlook that. Whats a good game sort of like Runescape? For those of you who played it, remember how excited you'd get if you happen to find like full run armor at like level 20 or when you worked hard to achieve shit. So anyway, whats a good MMO RPG game that isn't WoW and I'm not going to pay some monthly fee bullshit.
Oh and I'd like it to have sort of realistic knights. Like old school medieval knights and not just goblins, elves and wizards and shit.

Does D&D count?
I know a few MMO games but I don't know how much they cost and if they need a subscription. Like Rift.
Guild Wars is an awesome fantasy MMORPG but is not like Runescape though and it aint free either although you can play a free trial with no limitations for a limited time.
D&D? The board game? I think I'll pass. I heard of Rift, my science teacher plays it. He's a weird mother fucker though.
I think he means D&D online.
Been playing rift, its fucking awesome
I've heard of Rift and all but its a monthly fee game, theres plenty of games that are good and don't have a monthly fee. One and done bro.
Has anybody played Two Worlds 2?

At least Guild Wars doesn't have a subscription fee.

A 20 level Level cap doesn't count as long lasting
Aion.
(pay to play, $14.99 per month)
Great mmorpg. Difficult to level, not "cartoony" and less fanboys than WoW. Level cap is 55, will be raised to 60 in next patch. One expansion available; Assault on Balaurea
Also, Rift seems to be a rip off of Aion's PvP zone. One person in Rift reached max level in 2 days, doesn't seem worth it.

might be true.

Yes, but Two worlds isn't an MMO.

Yes, I have, loved the graphics, best I have seen in a while, but the voice acting and combat were simply awful.

Uhh, no.
Deus Ex isn't a MMO but its a brilliant RPG.
Hmmm. Good replys but I'm still looking. Thought Two Worlds was an MMO.

Probably the only decent MMO I've ever played. It has knights and other things you'd probably like. For an MMO, it has pretty nice graphics. It runs on the Source Engine. Right now there are 3 "classes" that you can choose from: Lann, Fiona, and Evie. The Lann is an offensive character whom uses 2 swords to attack. Fiona is a defensive character whom blocks and counters attacks by using a single sword and shield combo. The Evie is a mage character whom uses magic to support teammates and attack enemies. You start off in a small town and you can do basic quests, such as delivering or crafting items or just simply talking to people. To fight, you must take a ride on a boat with 3 other people (more people if you're doing a raid, somewhere around 6 I think?) and you're taken to a dungeon where you complete the quest on from there. After completing the first set of dungeons you'll be allowed to take a ride on the next boat, but from there on out you must pay for the rides by using a separate coin currency (not the one you use to purchase items, these are boat-only coins). It's pretty fun to play, I suggest you try it.
There are a few good MMOs coming out this year that I've seen, but neither of them are set in the era in which you had requested. (APB: Reloaded, SW: The Old Republic)
