I am sure you are all familiar with PETA! These are the cunts who brainwash our children, spread bullshit lies about meat and slaughterhouses as well as stage outrageously stupid protests.
Recently, PETA has been up to its usual outrageous antics. As it turns out, PETAEurope which is based in the UK, has been the source of this. On their official PETAEurope YouTube channel, they have been churning out their propaganda lies as part of their "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign. Their more recent attacks on the use of bearskin caps by the MoD has put me into a rage.
Since 2005, they have been constantly placing pressure on the MoD to phase out bearskin caps. What they do not realise is that the MoD have already tried synthetic materials but they simply don't work, as these get water-logged. To please them, the MoD have resulted to acquiring fur from bears that have died of natural causes, road kill and the sick, dying and infirm. This results in low quality fur that is thin and does not have as much volume. They have also stopped retired guardsmen from keeping their bearskins and are now pooling the hats to the guards.
Despite all its efforts to please PETA, they respond with this "the MoD have not done enough". This shit really pisses me off, because they want bearskins to be replaced entirely. Fuck that, these hats have so much history behind them and getting rid of it is like getting rid of part of the British Army and the regiments that wear them. By replacing these hats with synthetic materials, it only reinforces the media made image that all guardsmen are tourist attractions and are a fancy show. They might as well get rid of it all together, fuck your synthetic materials. It is my opinion that people who support the disuse of bearskin caps are all anti/un-British, uncultured and disloyal pricks.
Here's a look at some of their bullshit antics:

The annoying thing is that they can not have a protest without ending up butt naked with slogans written all over their arses. It sucks that cunt celebrities are using PETA to show their softer and 'furry' side by supporting their ridiculous cause.

Q&A - I debunk the lies set up by PETA
PETA - The bears are killed cruelly for the sole purpose of making bearskin caps.
>
Reality: Canadian black bears are killed annually by hunters and trappers with permits and licences issued to them by the Canadian government as a form of pest control. The bears are baited and shot, there is nothing more humane than a bullet to the head. On top of this, Inuit hunters cull thousands of black bears out of a population of over a million. As I've mentioned earlier, fur from road kill bear and the infirm are also sourced. As PETA is even opposed to killing animals classed as 'pests', they're hugely biased towards the legitimate fur trading industry. So whether or not the bearskin cap remains in use, the bears will still die as the fur industry is a reasonable part of the Canadian economy. But, since PETA believe in 'total animal liberation' that means black bears walking through towns in Canada, what fun. Is it realistic for PETA to have their way? NO
PETA - Bearskin caps are pointless military accoutrements from days gone by.
>
Reality: There is an extremely deep history to the bearskin cap, even longer than the history of America as a nation. So, what exactly is a bearskin? The history of the bearskin cap in the British Army started after the Battle of Waterloo, where the Grenadier Guards got its name. They were spoils of war, and were rewarded to the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards for their actions, after the defeat of the French Imperial Guard.
Although hard to believe, it was a functional piece of headgear. As functional as modern Kevlar helmets, it did its job.
Firstly, it broke the silhouette of the soldier wearing it. Thus lancers who would aim for the head would hit the bearskin instead, leaving the soldier free to thrust with his bayonet.
Secondly, the curb chain, which rests on the chin, would offer some form of protection from sabre slashes aimed at the face.
Lastly, although irrelevant in today's world, it added height to the guardsman. Height being an extremely desirable attribute in European armies, bearskins were awarded to only the most elite regiments.
In my opinion, it has much meaning as a regiment's colour or the cavalry's standard/guidon. Doing away with it is doing away with the history of the regiment, such things should not be allowed to happen.
Conclusion
I'm not saying it's sensible to slaughter thousands of animals for profit. It's never nice to kill animals, but when there is a legitimate reason behind it and they're not being pushed to extinction, I find it to be absolutely okay. An example of 'bad' exploitation of animals would be the Chinese consumption of shark's fin soup. The sharks are thrown back into the sea, their fins hacked off and left to sink to the bottom of the ocean. That's senseless right there as valuable flesh is wasted.
Spread the word that PETA are a bunch of lying, deceitful terrorists that will do anything out of their way for 'total animal liberation'.
They're not animal lovers, they're People for Extortion, Terrorism and Arson.
Yeah, because their videos about slaughterhouses are totally fake and none of that ever happens. Yep, all made up.
Just ignore them, they don't have any real power anyway.
They're pretty much real life trolls.
I honestly really couldn't care less, let them whine and scream from the rooftops all they like, no one who's of sane mind and body listens to them anymore.
I always liked those hats, they look so awesome . Fucking peta
peta are stupid. while they do occasionally have some slight points regarding some elements of vivisection, for the most part they're just a stupid, often misinformed, extremely politically polarised bunch of idiots. but it's their right to have whatever opinions they may have.
Yeah, because their videos about slaughterhouses are totally fake and none of that ever happens. Yep, all made up.
They don't drag living bears into slaughterhouses.
They don't drag living bears into slaughterhouses.
I never said they did and that post wasn't actually about the bear caps bullshit, it was about the first sentence.
A sane animal rights activist would support something like ASPCA or the World Wildlife Fund.
Didn't PETA murder 85% of the Animals you could adopt from them a couple months ago? I thought they lost all ability to be a troll after that.
Ah, yes they killed off the "companion" animals you could adopt, which has been going on for a long time, but now they killed off too many.
Found it. http://www.petakillsanimals.com/petasdirtysecret.cfm
I'm a member of PETA.
People Eating Tasty Animals.
These people are like Jack Thompson in so many ways. Think they're making a difference, no-one likes them, and they send letters to Obama for retarded stuff. Awesome hats, can't believe PETA is this screwed up.
there is nothing more humane than a bullet to the head.
Apart from putting the bear in a car then putting the exhaust pipe through the window.
Apart from putting the bear in a car then putting the exhaust pipe through the window.
What about giving the bear a bunch of drugs then letting it play in the highway?
Those hats are very traditional anyway, they're full of history. Us British and tradition? You've got better luck taking whiskey off a Irish man than getting us to stop doing something that is tradition.
How about peta gets their own island somewhere in the middle of nowhere and all countries throw some money and build a town or two and send two of every animal there too with peta people.
Also vegetables and seeds.
Also hidden cameras and such to monitor them.
Also no internet and peta cant leave the island.
World peace by me.

Wrong. America was a nation years before the start of the French Revolution. The Battle of Waterloo was near the end of the FR.
If God is real, then I think he should grant it by now.
If god is real, he won't give any crap about us
I don't mind your point and nor do I like PETA but
It is my opinion that people who support the disuse of bearskin caps are all anti/un-British, uncultured and disloyal pricks.
That seems a bit of an extreme view to hold over so little, I mean I'm British and I think the monarchy is a stupid idea that only attracts tourists and I'd gladly do away with, does that too make me uncultured and disloyal?
I mean really this hats have no significance and it wouldn't hurt to replace them with synthetic materials if it was cheaper or safer.
If god is real, he won't give any crap about us
You've got a point there.
Apart from putting the bear in a car then putting the exhaust pipe through the window.
How do you even get a bear in a car without expensive tranquillisers and tranquilliser guns?
Aren't these fuckers the ones who go to the extreme and fire bomb animal testing labs?
Wrong. America was a nation years before the start of the French Revolution. The Battle of Waterloo was near the end of the FR.
Different types of bearskins caps were in use decades before that.
Should have added it in, sorry.

Even after reading all of that you still think that they have no significance?
:geno:...
Damnit PETA, let them reserve they're silly little hats that makes the british security almost as silly as the Swiss Guard.

I think he points to before the battle, where french were wearing them. As the caps were biritish tradition after Waterloo
