But despite interest from the game's creator, restrictions in place by Disney are still a barrier to entry for any new franchise the team hopes to incorporate in the Kingdom Hearts universe. "Of course it would be great if we could add those licenses as well," said Nomura. "But there are lots of rules and restrictions by Disney so we can't actually put in everything people want. "So it's a quite difficult decision but we're gonna prepare some surprises for you so, just wait for the information." The Kingdom Hearts head also highlighted Final Fantasy developer Yoshinori Kitase's own interest in the potential cross-over, highlighting the significance of the recent acquisition of Star Wars by Disney. "We're not going to decide it whether Kitase-san likes Star Wars or not but we've been talking about Star Wars itself since it became Disney's content recently. When I heard the news I was like wow, wow'. Obviously it's gonna be great if we could add it," he commented. The team is currently working on the development of Kingdom Hearts 3, slated to hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The game will feature a mature Sora on new adventures with Mickey, Donald and Goofy. He will travel to all-new Disney-themed worlds previously unseen in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
It seems im late..cause this was posted july 8th.
I mean, they already had Tron in the last one, and that world was actually pretty cool, I'm sure they could pull off Star Wars. Not sure about super heroes though.
I want a Hulk summon.
References of Star Wars and Marvel in KH would be okay, but full-fledged worlds? I'm sorry, I just think Kingdom Hearts should stick to core Disney/Square material (but not that shitty live-action stuff nowadays). Furthest they should extend to is maybe Pixar, but that's it. It started with Disney/Square, it should end with Disney/Square. I'm not bashing this idea completely (I would LOVE a Deadpool or Spiderman summon), but I think the series should stay with what worked with it so well over the years. For those who are rating me dumb, let me rephrase my words: I just think the whole concept of Kingdom Hearts should remain between Disney and Square. I'm not saying "Marvel and Star Wars shouldn't be in because they're in live action", I'm saying that Marvel and Star Wars shouldn't be in because KH revolves around Disney/Square, and nothing else. That's just my opinion, although if Marvel and Star Wars DO end up making it into the series, then I might as well welcome them with open arms.
They could totally pull it off. And it would be awesome. The only thing to be wary of is last time they adapted a movie directly (pirates of the carribean), everything looked (vaguely) realistic and it was odd. I mean somehow it worked, but it was odd. Not sure how they'd pull off star wars. But I want to see them try.
No thanks, I'd rather they not pollute shit rpgs with it.
Xemnas already had light sabers anyways.
Deadpool in Kingdom Hearts
what even is kingdom hearts is it like a final fantasy/disney crossover series?
That would work really well, actually.

Kingdom Hearts will snowball into crossing over everything

The Tron world in KH2 was the best part of that game.

honestly, star wars has the perfect kingdom hearts shoe-in story anikan trying to not let his heart fall into darkness but he fails etc.
except the pirates of the caribbean world worked well and it was live action
Having the wrong voice actors was the only thing that bothered me. Sounded like someone from SNL trying to do an impression of Johnny Depp
This is actually why I wasn't bothered with Disney buying Star Wars. I had a feeling they were going to try this.
Ive never played Kingdom Hearts :3
Ive never played Kingdom Hearts :3
even if you're not big on the plotline, the actual gameplay is solid and very satisfying at least give the first one a chance!
even if you're not big on the plotline, the actual gameplay is solid and very satisfying at least give the first one a chance!
I would but i dont have a Playstation. It seems likes a cool game to play.

I'm sure that Disney will let them use both if they asked. Hell they let club penguin have a Marvel party and now a Star Wars party that is going on now.
Maybe I'm just a purist but why must they add in all these different worlds like starwars and marvel? The franchise was great with only Disney/ final fantasy. Now it's starting to look like a clusterfuck of people's ideas. And here I thought Disney finally had something good going. Oh well.
"He told me enough, he told me you killed him" "no luke, i am your father, And a heartless. so are you" "No it's not true, it's impossible! Sora, help!" *Vader boss battle* written by george lucas
I think the worst KH world is Pinnochio turns out it's incredibly easy to get lost in whale intestines
Now just have it written and acted by Tommy Wiseau and reach so-bad-it's-good nirvana.
Incredible games! Obtain them somehow and try to play at least the first. I know a lot of people prefer the first over the second, but i think the second expanded on the good things from the first and had better controls for magic, etc. So play both then.
I've been streaming KH1 and KH2 and plan to stream all of them it's actually surprisingly difficult. I was expecting it to be hyper easy kiddy shit, but it's a pretty decent character action game in its own right.
In Kingdom Hearts 1 I was surprised how hard Sephiroth actually was, and then Xemnas showed up. In Kingdom Hearts 2 I was prepared for the worst, I guess I was too prepared.
