Get out the fucking trumpets and party poppers.
Now the shitty boring bit that lasts hours at the beginning of every Assassins Creed game that you've already done again and again in every previous installment can be slightly more bearable.
What, more Desmond? [sp]How did they write him out of that situation?[/sp]
AWESOME !!!
I hated playing as Desmond every time I was taken out of the animus I was screwing.

POWER OF THE CLOUD, IT IS THE FUTURE.
MAN IN THE CLOOOUUUDDDDDD.
I always enjoyed playing Desmond outside of the Animus. Wasn't exactly exciting but it was nice to have a bit of modern-day in the game. Maybe that's just me.
Desmond is literally the worst thing about these games.
The modern day framing device could've been an alright method for seeing things as a bigger part of a puzzle, going over some important plot points or something, but yeah it just turned out to be something that held back everything else.
Glad they've realized that.
Now if only I wasn't so bored of your usual pirate setting... which I suppose much like the assassins themselves will be romanticized quite a bit? Haven't followed the trailers that much, so feel free to correct me.
I actually enjoy the modern day segments. Thought they were fun :/
I want more modern day than historic.
i want to fight the actual meaningful fight rather than fighting the past that i already knew i won.
Huh. I actually felt great when coming out of the Animus, gave me a break from the repetitive gameplay, jostled me around a bit and then threw me back in.
But a lot of that was hope for a large-scale modern assassination sequence.
Yeah let's make the story optional so you can just get on with stab stab stab stab stab stab stab stab stab because that's what people care about.
How long before It's just the game boots up and BAM it's just an endless wave of guards for you to stab?

After the massive mindfuck of a cliffhanger that was AC3's ending, taking out the modern day parts is the LAST thing I want to see. I want to know [sp]what the fuck is up with Juno, and how she can be stopped.[/sp] If it weren't for that, and instead we just had [sp]Desmond dying and saving the world[/sp], I would be more okay with this.

The pathetic thing is, we laugh at it, but that was kind of the plot of assassins creed revelation and will probably carry over somehow.

They kinda did that with the AC3 raiden switcheroo.

[sp] That's what we have to find out, how to stop Juno, the assassins did it before and there's got to be a way how to stop her, possibly with some of the artifacts or something. The thing was, he chose rather than restart the world and go back to barbarian days, to save it and hopefully fight it since the humans potentially have the resources to. [/sp]
I like desmond storyline, so I may be getting assassin's creed 4 for the PC or for the PS4...
I think it is silly to just trim out the overarching story in favor of accessibility.
I liked the Desmond story through Brotherhood, but they kind of let it go in Revelations and 3.

Explain the other game in development [sp]Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix[/sp] then.

It's entirely possible though. The entire Desmond plot of Revelations was about him interacting with a guy whos mind was saved/trapped in the animus. It wasn't that specific animus, but the software itself.
I wish they'd just make a game set entirely in the semi-futurisitic world of their "modern day." Deal with the problem of guns by saying Abstergo owns the police force and they've been told to take the Assassins in alive to use them in their Animus. And some of them can still have pistols and things; I mean, guns have been in the games since the second one for Christ's sake. That way they can get all the MNYEAAAH FUTURE out and any other games could be specifically in one time period.

You might want to spoiler that. Also, [sp]for some reason, I think the plot narrative is going to try and bring Desmon back into the physical world, not just as a trapped mind in the long run.[/sp]

[sp]Nah, his body is gone. He'll probably be leaving clues and shit in other peoples animus's or something.[/sp]
I hope the optional stuff is gameplay stuff and not just videos and images. The parts [sp] where you climb the tower, parachute down and any of the parts where you had to hide from the guards[/sp] were probably the most fun I've had in AC3.
the modern ending in AC3 was total shit
Who is this daysmond you speak of.

I'm sort of the opposite, I like building up a guild of Assassins but it sucks to know the Templars took it all back eventually.
I hated Desmond, but I never minded playing as him.
His segments were actually some of the better parts of Ass Creed 3 in my opinion.
In AC1 to Brotherhood the idea worked great, after ACR it just became irrelevant.
Desmond is literally the worst thing about these games.
the worst thing was actually the lack of features and refinement in the first one, the sameyness of 2, brotherhood and revelations and the tiny low built cities and shitty plot in the 3rd one.
