Senior local Conservatives are urging the prime minister to delay any parliamentary decision on gay marriage until after the next election.
More than 20 Conservative Association chairmen have signed a letter to be delivered to No 10 on Sunday.
The foreign secretary said MPs would be left to "make their own decision" when they voted on the plans next week.
For those not familiar with UK politics, Cameron himself is a conservative, making this even more silly.
I hope this doesn't make people forget that Cameron is still a slimy ballsack.

Hopefully it reminds people how ass-backward the core of the conservative party actually is
I don't want to be banned for a 'snipe' post, but I bet that after this the Conservatives won't do much more to help out LGB & T citizens in the country. IIRC David Cameron backed something that gone against schools or public areas promoting/expression homosexual relationships a while back.
He's only supporting equal marriage to try to garner votes. He voted for proposition 22 (or whatever it was called) a while ago.
If the tories will be known as the party to legalize gay marriage then they'll get more support next election.

“The High Septon once told me that as we sin, so do we suffer. If that's true, Lord Eddard, tell me . . . why is it always the innocents who suffer most, when you high lords play your game of thrones?"

Nonsense, how dare you insult Cameron the Liberator like that

It's annoys me how quickly everyone will be to forget all the stuff he has done to harm the poor just because he did some stupid token gay rights thing. It's not even a big thing rights wise, he's just making marriage the name of gay civil unions instead of them being called civil partnerships.
Doesn't help Ed Miliband hasn't exactly been up to scratch.

No. The core of the Tory Party are business-oriented ever since Thatcher. The Paleo-Conservatives are just a faction within the Tory Party now. Cameron is a Thatcherite. He doesn't care/mind if gays get married, in fact, they find this as a convenience on legal stuffs and Tory votes.

Welcome to politics as it has ever been. S'only reason I can see why people actually bothered to vote lib dem this past election. Taking their "promises" at face value and ignoring their history when they've gotten power in the past.

well I guess you probably don't want a dry ballsack anyways

can't he be removed from the party though?
can't he be removed from the party though?
Only by a vote of no confidence in parliament (unlikely over a fairly trivial matter like this that has support from most other sections of parliament)

That's sort of ironic considering that you're criticising the Conservatives when Labour fucked up way way worse.

i mean next election.

He's one of the majority that are centre politicians in the party. These ones trying to hold back on the law changes are almost right wing stereotypes.
I mean, this policy can only help them at the next election, but these party chairs are still undecided as to whether gay = human.

Labour did a hell of a lot of good, bar the gold, they didn't really do anything wrong. The deregulation of the banks was bad, but the Tories wanted to do the same thing themselves any way, in fact they wanted to deregulate them more.

Well unregulated immigration wasn't exactly a good thing, promising a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty and then signing it anyway wasn't a good thing, the whole Iraq war wasn't a good thing, Devolution wasn't necessarily a good thing, Excessive Borrowing really didn't help to cause the situation we're currently in, Creating many hundreds of unsustainable jobs in the public sector hasn't helped in the long run and just a generally ineffective public service.
This better get passed - using religion as an excuse for not letting two people marry is just ridiculous
Religion should not have any sort of influence or impact in any non-religious context

Unregulated immigration was fine, I don't see how it caused any problems, devolution was good, excessive borrowing was necessary to fix up various institutions left in disrepair by the former tory government.
I'll give you the Iraq war though

No one's really mentioning religion. They're using scaremongering about a slippery slope to polygamy, the argument that gay marriage is "a minority redefining marriage for everyone else ;_;" and speculation that the ECHR will one day force churches to administer gay marriage
and speculation that the ECHR will one day force churches to administer gay marriage
Careful now, Daily Fail might make a headline about this: "Europe diabolically plans to thrust the heathenish 'gay marriage' into our rear."
