Band history and shit if you're into that sort of jazz. Why are you into that sort of jazz? This is a metal thread. Golly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabaton_%28band%29 Anyways: This band is awesome. Almost every song is about some historical war. They did an entire album based on Sun Tzu's book. What isn't about war is about METAL. For example: Panzer Battalion: Panzerkampf: Wolfpack: Cliffs of Gallipoli: Ghost Division: 40:1 Into the Fire: Besides all that, they've made a couple songs composed almost entirely of references to heavy metal songs/bands. Metal Machine: (My favorite) Metal Crue:
Sabaton is fucking awesome.
Indeed. Funny pronounciation of foreign words though.
Wow, this sounds pretty awesome. I thank you for bringing it to my attention.
If you ever get the chance, see 'em live...seriously they fucking rock live.
Holy shit these guys sound like pure fucking awesome. Bands like these are why I listen to metal.
Metal Machine is awesome. Except that Pink Floyd aren't metal. :saddowns:
Holy shit, these guys are awesome. Thanks for showing us.
They are a great band, I've got all the albums. Also they have a new album in the works, apparently they are on to mixing it now.
These guys are pretty fucking awesome.
I saw them live when they supported Dragonforce! They played Panzer Battalion and it was awesome. The lead singer talked to us about how his nation "shitted their pants" when there was the war and how much he looked up to us Brits. It was great.
Ghost Division melts my face.
I'm having a bit of a hard time finding ratings on Sabaton's albums and my Internet is pretty slow, so that rules out listening to each one before I chose one to get. So all that considered, could anyone recommend me what you consider their best album?
Primo Victoria.
Primo Victoria.
Thanks, narrows it down. I'll look up the album later.
Panzer Battalion is apparently about the Iraq War. Ok then.
I saw them live in November I believe they were supporting Dragonforce along with Glamour of the Kill and Sylosis. I enjoyed Sabaton more than the rest and I hadn't even heard of them before that gig, now I love them!
Hey where did you see them? Sylosis were at the one I was at too.
At the Southampton Guild Hall? Don't tell me you were there :aaa:...
Panzer Battalion is apparently about the Iraq War. Ok then.
No, it's not.
Then why does it mention SAM sites. Plus the lyrics "a decade ago". Germany wasn't in any wars in 1929-1935. Desert storm and the 2003 invasion of iraq are close enough. They say "killers in the east" meaning if it was WWII they'd be talking about russia, but since it obviously isn't it must mean the middle east. I don't know why the hell they chose "panzer" but I guess it's better sounding than "tank."
I don't usually care for metal, but Primo Victoria is a fucking great song.
Fuck Yea Power Metal Power Metal is better than black metal, because whats scarier? Fighting Christians or Fighting Demons?
At the Southampton Guild Hall? Don't tell me you were there :aaa:...
Nah, I was in Glasgow, oh well :frown:.
These guys performed in I think Glasgow in December. Didn't know about it. Wish I did, would have been awesome.

Was it awesome I bet it was
My favorite songs are Ghost Division, Firestorm, Panzer Battalion, In the Name of God and Birds of War.
Was it awesome I bet it was
Hell yeah, they played Panzer Battalion and the singer was talking to us about war and alcohol. [editline]04:59PM[/editline] The Art of War was awesome as well.
