At long last, here it is ... the upcoming LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory set!Our professional model designer Steen Sig Andersen and graphic designer Mathew Boyle worked to keep the set design as true as possible to fan builders Alatariel and GlenBricker's original submission, while also working in LEGO design DNA and collaborating with our licensing partners. Mathew says he had a lot of fun bringing elements like Sheldon's 'smile,' Howard's trademark smirk and Bernadette's scary side to life in the minifigure characters.
Here at LEGO Ideas, we can't wait for you to be able to build your own model of Leonard and Sheldon's living room, complete with the minifigure cast of The Big Bang Theory. The set contains 479 pieces and will be available starting August 1 for a recommended retail price of $59.99 US / EUR 59,99.
Before you have a brain aneurysm they will also release a marble machine around the same time

Why
Does make sense. From the few episodes I've seen Sheldon wears a lot of DC Comics shirts and the show is produced by Warner Bros., so it would be easy for Lego to go straight to them to talk about making a set.
That looks like the most boring lego set ever. It doesn't even look like it has any interesting pieces that you can use for other things.
Lets not forget that they also said they were going to do Wall-E and Doctor Who sets:

Everything is bazinga
Everything is zimbabwe when you're part of a team
I'm probably gonna pick this up.

What about the stand part of the telescope? That looks to have a p cool piece on it. Also, they don't use those tiny minifigure trophies often, do they? Not tom ention the forks Howard and Raj have.
I think you guys mean Big Brick Theory
brickzinga
I don't really care about Big Bang Theory. I don't think it's as bad as everyone says, but god damn. That looks like the most boring LEGO set ever.
Wasn't this apart of a contest about set ideas?
There was Lego Birds set that won with the Big Bang Theory which was really cool.

Why would you make a lego set out of a boring apartment based comedy?

is this hell
So wait who's going to buy this? I don't think kids watch Big Bang Theory, but I'm not trying to imply adults can't buy it either it just is...really dull looking. I don't get it.

The same people that buy the super complicated star wars playsets. Geeks and nerds with too much time/money on their hands.

Well the Star Wars sets I can understand, since a lot of them are so visually cool. This one is just, I dunno pretty plain.
Coming soon, LEGO Two And A Half Men! [sp]It's just three minifigures and one of them has no legs.[/sp]
ALF, Futurama, hell, even Seinfeld would have made better sets. Am I missing something that this show that I find unbearable is popular enough to have a Lego set?
Shame that such nice urban design is going towards a tacky TV show. It'd be a lovely set at a lower price but the brand shoves it right up.
I would roll laughing if they released a Seinfeld set. The hair piece for Kramer would be the best.
I still find it funny people shit on the show because of a single word.
I don't think bazinga has been used for years now.
Its not that great of a show but damn stop hating so much just because its popular.
Just a reminder that this was picked over the train from Back to the Future Part III
