came out a while ago, but no one posted it I think.
This is a really, really shitty way to demo the potential of a 'light field' camera. You could literally achieve this with any quality camera, a fast lens, and a manual focus rig.
Light field photography has potential because in action/sports photography, it can be difficult to get the perfect focus tracking quickly moving objects. Here, it's some guys wanking around with shallow depth of field on objects that are hardly moving, if not inanimate. I'd hardly call it a technical accomplishment.
I think there are much more ambitious and relevant applications for LF cameras, so I hope we'll someday see something where it actually made sense to bother with.
